1) Dirty View
Imagine looking out your window and seeing this. The inspector could not believe his eyes when he discovered this underground rock wall outside this window. This is a lot of work to remove this ugly view.
2) Broken Column
When a construction team unveiled this dangerous stuccoed column, they discovered it was not supporting the building. This could have caused a catastrophic result of the building collapsing. Good thing the team discovered it before it was too late.
3) Skull Zone
During a home inspection, the inspector came across a human skull. He contacted Police and the investigation resulted in finding out the homeowners brought it back from a vacation in Peru. Who on earth would do that!

4) Kitchen Crack
When home inspectors came across this giant crack in a kitchen floor, they knew this would cost the homeowner a huge amount of money to fix it. Extensive repairs will be involved. Could a tree be the root of the problem?
5) Short On Support
This was discovered during a home inspection. The homeowners couldn’t figure out why their floors were uneven. The support was on the edge of collapsing.
6) Scary Nkondi
A home inspector was completely freaked out when he discovered this Nkondi. He knew what the meaning was behind this scary looking statue. He hopes the spirit doesn’t haunt him tonight.
7) Bee Careful
This was an unusual discovery by a home inspector. Bees built a honeycomb next over top of a dead animal under the foundation of a house. Inspectors had to be very careful when removing this.
8) Unsafe Abode
When called out to inspect this home, inspectors were stunned on the state of the home. Not to mention the fact that it is extremely unstable. The incline this home is built on is structurally unsafe.
9) Chained In
Do you really think this chain will hold up that entire brick wall? When inspectors arrived to this home, this was the first problem they discovered. It is a major hazard for any pedestrian walking by.
10) Round About
Now this is something you don’t see everyday. Commercial inspectors came across this find in an underground parking lot. These were used back in the late 1800’s. They were used on vehicles to provide easy movement and access.
11) Nailed It
Home inspectors came across this shoddy workmanship. Looks like the builder missed the target. Inspectors had to be careful not to injure themselves on these long nails.
12) Holey Foundation
A structural inspection of this home revealed a faulty retaining wall. If inspectors didn’t discover this issue, the wall would have collapsed. Homeowners were thankful it was found before that happened.
13) Foundation Improvisation
When all else fails improvise! Home inspectors could not believe their eyes when they discovered this. This foundation was being supported by a bubble-like concrete formation. Not the best work they’ve seen.
14) Wall Break
Inspectors were dumbfounded when they came across this huge break in this retaining wall. Perhaps an earthquake could have caused this structural damage. It’s amazing how the earth’s elements can cause this much damage.
15) Re-Bar Free
This is what happens when builders do not use rebar in cement foundations. There is nothing to support the wall. This framework is barely hanging on.
16) Water Logged
When water continuously made its way into this wall, it weakened the cement. The wall is slowly crumbling. This should be repaired right away.
17) Big Gap
Something went really wrong with this retaining wall. The gap is so big it actually exposed the rebar. The rebar appears to be bent.
18) All Cracked Up
This poured concrete basement floor was so badly cracked, moss began to grow on it. This must fix floor is in dyer need of costly repairs.
19) Haunted House
This well known California haunted house was built in 1888. Inspectors were wary when they conducted an inspection on this house. They weren’t quite sure what they may have come across.
20) Boulder Rubble
This mountain of rubble was found in the crawlspace of a home. Looks like one of the retaining walls has deteriorated. Hope this doesn’t cause a structural problem.
21) Disaster On Stilts
Inspectors said this is one of the worst homes they have ever been too. It was structural unstable and required many repairs to pass any type of inspection. To be honest this looks like a tear down project.
22) Root Of The Problem
This ficus tree roots grew right through this retaining wall. Once again nature prevails. It will be interesting to see how they go about repairing this.
23) Termite Delight
The deck on this home was so badly infested with termites that it was literally eaten away. Having a home inspected for termite damage is very important as it can cause serious problems This photo shows what they are capable of doing.
24) Land Slide
The land beside this home experienced a landslide that came right through this homeowners wall. It will be interesting to see them find a fix for this. Whatever the fix is, it is sure to be very expensive.
25) Tilted Over
This dual retaining wall is ready to completely collapse. The lower retaining wall that supports the upper retaining wall has tilted over. The upper retaining wall has experienced a lot of structural damage. This job will have to be completely redone.
26) Old Canyon Cabin
Located in Benedict Canyon, this cabin style home is in need of many repairs. It is difficult sometimes to make repairs on older structures and still maintain their unique character. This could be refinished into a gem.
27) House Louse
This home has many problems the homeowners are dealing with. Inspectors found bowing walls, termite infestation, no foundation, and water damage. The likelihood of this home being brought up to code is nil and next to one. Time to call in the demolition team.
28) Dolly Dingle
This creepy looking doll was found underneath a house. It completely freaked out the home inspector. He’s seen some sights in his days, but this one takes the cake on creepy dolls.
29) Lego Steps
So the question is, what was there first, lego, or the cement form. This picture makes it appear as though the steps were first made of lego then covered with cement. However what really may have happened is someone repaired the steps with lego blocks.
30) Engineering Error
This floor shows that when there is a major engineering problem, overbearing weight can cause uneven sagging floors and buckled walls. This floor has a good 4 inch drop.
31) Foundation Extra
This photo makes it look as though this cement structure is going right through the foundation wall. No idea what this is or why it is there. However the foundation wall itself is crumbling and needs to be replaced.
32) Disintegration Disaster
All three columns were installed at the same time. The outer two seem fine, but what happened to the middle one? The bottom end is completely disintegrated, bolts and all.
33) Garage Gone Under
When the pre-inspection was done on this garage floor, the inspector was expecting to find cracks, but to his surprise a large portion of the sub floor had completely collapsed. His report would have to include a rebuild instead of a repair.
34) Rust And Rot
These buildings were part of an earthquake retrofitting project. When inspectors arrived they discovered there was a lot more involved than retrofitting. They found extensive wood rot and rusted straps and bolts.
35) Dead Rats
During this home inspection, dead rats were found in the unfinished crawl space. Quite the disgusting find. These people need to call pest control.
36) Need Your Rocks Washed
Inspectors found this retaining wall made from concrete filled washing machines. The entire base of the wall consisted of many of these heavy duty washers. Now that’s different.
37) River Rock Lint
This crawl space was completed piled high with dryer lint. The river rock foundation wall was literally falling apart. This is a fire waiting to happen.
38) Caved In Cave
Under the cave of this home’s structure, the foundation walls were crumbling. When inspectors touched the pipe located on the ground it broke right in half. Big repair job is needed here
39) Jilted By A Tilt
This homeowner couldn’t understand why their house was tilted. Perhaps the gigantic cracks in the foundation would be a good indication. Call a contractor.
40) Pigs Assist
This contractor was greeted everyday by the family pigs. You never know what you are going to run into when you work on people’s homes. They say pigs make great pets.
41) Bird Saviour
This construction worker had an extra duty today. He had to save a baby bird on the construction site. I wonder if he gets extra pay for that.
42) Bad Connection
I don’t think an electrical outlet should be spouting water. Something went terribly wrong. I think it’s time to call in an experienced electrician.
43) Easy Access
This is the strangest entrance way to a crawl space. Hope the homeowner is not too large to fit through this hole. Maybe they have children they can send in there.
44) Skinny Dip
I would be a little wary about swimming in this pool. You would have to be awful skinny to fit under here. It doesn’t look too safe either.
45) Spooky Doll
While crawling under a home, inspectors came across this doll they thought was a real child at first. It totally freaked them out. You never know what you are going to find under a house.
46) Concrete Brace
Do they seriously expect these braces to hold up this concrete retaining wall? The wall looks like its ready to collapse any minute. This calls for a better fix.
47) Bad Job
Someone attempted to build an additional wall against the brick foundation wall. Doesn’t look like they knew what they were doing. Not quite up to code.
48) Electric Scissors
Somebody definitely was not thinking straight when they did this. Are they still alive or did they get electrocuted. Not the sharpest pencil in the box.

49) Rickety Deck
This does not look safe to walk on. Maybe for a cat or a dog, but definitely not for a human. It does not look secure at all.
50) Pie Counter
Now this is an accident waiting to happen. By the looks of the toys on the floor, there are children in this home. At the very least put a foam protection pad on it.
51) Short People Only
Tall people beware. Someone is sure to walk into the sharp corner of this doorway. This is a hazard for sure.
52) Bombs Away
Now this is scary. When you come across a hand grenade you have to be a little skeptical of the homeowners. Inspectors should leave the home immediately. Tell the homeowners you suddenly took ill.
53) Blind Fire
A fire inspector would definitely warn these homeowners about baseboard heater fire hazards. Not only have the blinds melted but the curtains are much too close as well. You can never be too careful with these types of heaters.

54) Poop Fitter
If all else fails, you do what you have to do. This brings a whole new meaning to retrofit. The plumbing must have been behind the wall.
55) Hydro Shortage
This is what the entire house is running on. Hope they don’t have too many appliances. They must run one electrical thing at a time.
56) Off Track
Looks like they were a little off with their measurements. The wood box should have been over the hole. Looks like someone is getting fired.
57) Chimney Done Wrong
Caulking doesn’t quite do the job on this chimney. There is a very good chance this is not safe. The caulking won’t hold for long once the chimney heats up.
58) Brick Artistry
This was a quick fix that a homeowner did to make the wall look like new. Good painting job. It is actually hard to tell from a distance that this was painted on.
59) Seal The Deal
Someone was afraid of a leak perhaps. This entire plumbing struction was completely coated in flex seal. This was a great attempt to seal the deal.
60) Ice Attic
Due to a whole house humidifier, this attic had so much moisture the exterior cold air turned it to ice. Might be a good idea to adjust the humidifier. Good thing no one lives in the attic.
61) Foam Figure
Not really sure what happened here, but it’s kind of funny. Looks like someone is keeping an eye on a business card. Great way to catch someone’s attention.
62) Lego Construction
Looks like the kids have the brains in this family. A very innovative way to hold up the shelves. Good job kids, that’s using your head.
63) Old Rad
A contractor discovered this old radiator in a home. This home is obviously very old. You don’t see these anymore. Not sure if it is still working or not.
64) Pressure Decor
A plumber was quite impressed when he arrived at this home. Quite the unique piece of artwork. Would make a great gift for a plumber friend.
65) Boiler Spoiler
A gas fitter came across this old style boiler in a home. These are ancient. However it is still a functioning unit. Quite the find.
66) Shot Shingles
You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out this roof needs replacing. The shingles have deteriorated so badly the flakes have filled the eaves. The shingles underneath look better than the ones on top.
67) Pot Spot
The contractors working at this home, found someones pot stash. Wonder if they would notice it missing. Maybe it belongs to a teen in the house.
68) Direct Wiring
This photo depicts a whole new meaning of direct wiring. This seems to be a little unsafe. It would not pass the home inspector for sure.
69) Octopus Panel
What a nightmare this electrical panel is. It looks like an octopus. This could take a while to put this into perspective.
70) Hidden Spot
Whoops, missed a spot. This is too funny. The homeowners better sell the carpet with the house. I wonder if the other area rug has the same flooring underneath.
71) Dual Purpose
This chimney looks like its multi-functional. Heat for the winter and air for the summer. Great invention, however it is not quite right.
72) Not Quite Right
What’s wrong with this picture. I think the showerhead should be on the inside of the shower. Hope they have a water drain in this basement.
73) Rust Soak
The water in this home definitely has a rust problem. Can’t imagine someone hopping into this tub. The pipes must be really old.
74) Lotta Lint
Wrong place to put a dryer vent. Dryer vents should be accessible to clean on a regular basis. If they accumulate too much lint, they become fire hazards. Never put a screen over the vent.
75) Filthy Filter
Furnace technicians gave this filthy furnace filter first place for the dirtiest they’ve ever seen. Did the homeowners not discover a lot of dust in the house. The furnace does not perform well either when the filter is dirty.
76) Hose Job
Who says pantyhose are just for legs. This home inspection revealed the use of pantyhose as a lint filter for a dryer. Perhaps this is a little dangerous.
77) Useful Eaves
Never before has this home inspector spotted external eaves gutters used inside the home. A very inventive way to drain water. Whatever it takes, do it.
78) Overgrown Roof
How is this homeowner going to get his lawnmower on the roof. This roof seems to have a moisture issue. Wonder if the weeks act as a protective barrier for the roof.
79) Lazy Paint Job
Somebody was too lazy to move the furniture to paint. Hope they have left over paint to cover the missed area. The painter should be fired.
80) No Flow
This homeowner is probably wondering why their eavestrough is overflowing. Looks like someone ran over this downspout with their vehicle. Hope they notice this soon.
81) Canned In
When all else fails use a can. This was discovered by a home inspector. Not really sure if this is legal or not.
82) Lazy Line
Whoever installed this refrigerator water line in this home went right over the lazy susan in the cupboard. Lazy installer, lazy Susan. Hope it doesn’t leak.
83) Up On The Roof
Not the ideal place to install an air conditioning unit. This could cause a major leak in the roof. The brick walls could be a little heavy for the roof as well.
84) Wrongly Wired
A certified electrician would not have done this. This is the lazy, knowledgeable way to hang a light. Absolutely against building code.
85) Beam Me Up
This is a no no. The person that installed this garage door opener went right through a supporting beam. The beam is now weakened. This would appear on the home inspection list.
86) Tape Escape
This is someones DIY attempt at sealed pipes. This is not the intended use for duct tape. This would not pass a home inspection.
87) Tile Style
This newly designed shower tile consists of duct tape highlights. Hope they are not planning to eliminate water leaks with this set up. A home inspectors nightmare.
88) Base Coat
This picture gives a whole new meaning behind base coat. Paint cans are used as the base for this ladder. This is a danger alert.
89) Dwarf Shower
Something is definitely wrong with this set up. Perhaps the showerhead was installed for bathing pets. Maybe it’s an eye washing station.
90) Nookers Nook
Somebody’s measurements were a tad off. The microwave door will only open this far. Its too close to the wall to open all the way.
91) Tight Fit
This poorly designed bathroom would be a tight fit for the smallest person, nevermind someone with a little weight on them. Good luck reaching the toilet paper without banging your head. The upside is you cannot forget to wash your hands.
92) Pots And Potty
This is the strangest place to have a toilet. Nothing like having your potty with your pots and pans. Just so you know, this is a functioning toilet. Very strange location.
93) Boxed_In
This photo shows someone stacked a bunch of electrical boxes so they could see the light. Although this did the job, not quite sure if it is legal or not. Boxes are also a little close to the heating vents.
94) Clamp Band Aid Fix
This is one way to fix a broken pipe. Not quite sure this band aid fix will do the job for long. A plumber is in order for a proper repair.
95) Chicken Fried Mice
Mice nested in the wrong place. These dead mice carcasses are the result of heat exposure. Mice can cause a lot of electrical damage as they tend to chew on wires.
96) Bare Bone
The entrance way to this house had a bone sticking out of its soffit. This is pretty weird, no bones about it. Perhaps a squirrel or other animal was taking it to a nest.
97) Mildew View
The walls in this basement are completely covered in mold and mildew. It’s obvious the basement the basement is absorbing too much moisture. A large dehumidifier might help.
98) Multi Tasking
You would wonder how this mouse missed the traps. This is one way to get the job done right, or not. Multiple traps and not one mouse in any of them.
99) High Hazard
This dangerous lighting assembly is an accident waiting to happen. Hidden behind a drop ceiling, this could have a catastrophic outcome. This better be fixed quick.
100) Shower Hide Away
A home inspector found this laundry Chute in the strangest place. It was located right in the shower stall. I guess you could take your dirty clothes off in the shower and put them directly into the laundry chute. I can picture the kids throwing all kinds of stuff down that chute.
