Tennessee Tiny Homes is a company that specializes in building beautiful and efficient tiny homes for people looking to downsize and give ‘tiny living’ a try. One of their designs, in particular, is truly breathtaking.
Mendy’s Tiny Home is just 18-by-6-feet and is complete with living room, kitchen, bathroom, and loft.
Also known as the ‘Shoebox,’ the tiny home sits on a towable trailer, allowing the owners to move their home to a different location whenever they’d like. The model boasts metal roofing, natural wood interior, and fully-customized siding.
Once inside the Shoebox, it’s obvious that the beauty isn’t limited to the exterior.
Tennessee Tiny Homes offers laminate flooring and countertops with the base model of Mendy’s Tiny Home. As pictured, buyers can upgrade to heated floors, a built-in futon, and white painted walls, which seems well worth the money to have a home this comfortable.
The living room has plenty of natural light and features furniture that is functional, practical, and beautiful.
The built-in futon converts from a couch to a bed with just a few added cushions and a panel that folds up and down. The designers also made sure to include plenty of shelving for storage, building the shelves into the wall saves space and makes the room feel less cluttered.
The kitchen was cleverly designed to maximize space and functionality.
The kitchen’s minimalistic design is perfectly suited for the 128-square-foot space. It features a sink, portable electric stove, and heater; upgrades include granite countertops, propane stove, and large fridge. Wooden blocks cover both the sink and stove to provide extra counter space when needed.
Also downstairs is the Mendy’s compact bathroom.
The black and white bathroom is tight quarters, but it has every amenity you could need, and how much time is really spent in the bathroom anyway? The 32-inch by 32-inch shower stall is equipped with an on-demand tankless hot water heater, so you never have to worry about cold showers.
A ladder that sits between the kitchen and living room provides access to the sleeping loft.
The vaulted ceilings in the sleeping loft yield enough room for the occupants to sit upright. Circular skylights are great for letting in natural light or gazing up at the stars before bed. The loft was designed to accommodate a queen-sized bed and a bit of simple decor.
Mendy’s Shoebox might be smaller than many people’s bedrooms, but it goes to show that living tiny doesn’t have to mean sacrificing luxury.
