Is it possible to achieve financial independence at the young age of 19?
This is the age when teens are trying to explore life. They plan what they want to be, where they would buy a home, and when to buy their first car.
But for Haley, financial independence at an early age was the most appealing goal.
At 19, she designed her tiny home, and with the help of Mint Tiny Homes, she was able to fulfill her dreams.
The house was around $50,000.
She rents a piece of land in Simi Valley, California. Her tiny home is located up on a hill, and according to her, this was one of the hardest parts of moving.
Haley said that it was all worth it because it is peaceful, and the surrounding is beautiful.
When she moved into her tiny home, many people around her were skeptical.
They asked her if she was happy with it and if her home was comfortable, and many other questions about tiny living.
Haley is thrilled and satisfied with her dream home. She customized it according to how she wanted it, and now, her tiny house is her dream home.
“I think our generation respects the experience rather than the things in our lives. So, you automatically just cut out all the extra stuff that you don’t need to worry about, and then you can focus on experiences and what is really important to you,” said Hailey to Tiny House Giant Journey.
When you enter her home, which she calls “the tiny,” you will see her living room, which has a big comfy couch that can turn into a full-sized bed.
Her home is surrounded by windows, which makes it well-lit as natural light is abundant. You would also notice that there are lots of plants and books.
Instead of a television, she has a projector.
Haley has a breakfast nook that she also uses as a working area. One of the highlights of her kitchen is her coffee maker. She said she loves making coffee for her friends and is still practicing her latte art skills.
The designer chose a large sink for her, and she was very thankful for that idea.
According to Haley, she can bathe her dog in the sink, wash small pieces of clothes, and just do so many things with the space provided.
She also has a big fridge where she can cook food and freeze them.
Haley loves her composting toilet and her small but cute shower area. All her toiletries, make-up and skin products are well organized on her three-layer shelves.
She has a ladder that doubles as a storage area for her. Haley’s bed has a skylight that accentuates it.
What we love about her home is that she has a spacious and relaxing garden and receiving area outside.
Overall, aside from financial independence, Haley loves her tiny home because she was able to maximize her small space.
