K-Cups can really pile up. Especially for coffee lovers. But they don’t have to head straight to the recycling bin.
They can actually be reused. There are lots of things you can do with your old K-Cups. You can make crafts or things to help you out around the house.
You can even grow plants with K-Cups. Or you might want to use them to keep organized. Either way, you’ll definitely want to hang on to them from now on.
K-cups can actually be reused to make more coffee. Just fill your old K-cup up and slap on a K-cup cap then brew as you would an unused K-cup. You can buy caps here.
Do you little ones need to practice their fine motor skills? Poke some holes in your old K-cups. Have your kids lace shoelaces through the holes in the cup. This, of course, should be done under supervision.
Use old K-cups or organize tiny items around the house. They are great for things like paper clips, bread clips, or buttons. You can even use them to organize craft supplies like beads and buttons.
Sometimes your little ones could have trouble holding their playing cards. Make a card holder for them with K-Cups. Just slit a hole into the bottom of your cup. Fan your cards out and place them in the slit.
Use K-Cups to preserve your herbs. Place your herbs in an old K-Cup. Pour some water or olive oil in with your herbs and freeze. Pull out of the cup when you’re ready to use. They are great for tossing into soups and sauces.
You can make a customized stamp with a K-Cup. Use a glue gun to create an image on a small cardboard disc. You’ll want to make sure the designs are drawn backwards. Then glue the other side of the disc to your K-Cup. Press into some ink and stamp away.
You can make pretty garland lights with Nespresso pods. Just cut some holes into them and poke your lights through. Get the details here. You can also use regular K-Cups to make illuminated garland. You’ll want to be careful putting the plastic cups near lights and keep a close eye on them for safety.
Once your seeds have started to grow, turn your K-Cups into hanging planters. Just poke some hole in the side of your sprouted K-Cup. Hang the string from your holes and use these to suspend your K-Cups.
You can glue K-Cups together to make a sphere. Then poke some lights through. It turns it into a cool light ball. This is another project you’ll want to keep an eye on for safety reasons.
You can also turn your K-Cups into ice pops. Just fill them with juice or whatever you want your pops to be made out of. Once the top freezes over, pop a toothpick or popsicle stick in them. Put them back in the freezer until fully frozen.
Use your K-Cups to organize your hair accessories. Place your tiny hair clips, hair ties, and bobby pins inside. Place the cups in a cup caddy for easy access.
