Couple juxtapose 3 shipping containers between two cliffs for incredible home
Trying to squeeze the containers into the ravine and stack them the way they did was a challenge beyond compare. And it was worth every effort. 😍

Houses built from containers are typical now when people try to make their own tiny houses, or when they have projects for DIYs.

Container homes are suitable since they already have the primary framework every house should have.

This mini container mansion isn’t like others.

Let’s take a tour of this totally amazing home and how this couple’s concept of a house was formed.

Meet Seth and Emily.

They have been building container houses for several years already. And with this skill, they quit their jobs to go full time in building container houses for people.

The Roca Boxhop is one of their creations.

And it is currently being used for rentals. It’s located in Hocking Hills, Ohio.

The aim here was to build a home that blended in with its natural surrounding.

So when they bought the property, they thought of a concept to build a container house like no other.

And they wedged it between two cliffs.

3 containers were used in The Roca Boxhop, two 40-footers, and a 20-footer.

The base foundation was built with concrete and metal plates so the containers can be welded.

The 40-footer and the 20-footer containers were first laid out side by side. Then the second 40-footer was placed diagonally on top.

It features a living roof.

The roofing is made out of moss and ferns to blend with nature.

Glass windows are placed strategically. To the side, there’s a hot tub where it overlooks a ravine.

The inside looks great with all the matching bright colors dominating the walls and ceiling.

Emily loves to collect items so she incorporated her collections into the Roca Boxhop.

The interior combines the old and new.

The dining area has a rustic but modern vibe. The space is enough for a family of 6 to dine with a big table.

Due to the limits of the space, they made the kitchen area so the sink, stove, fridge, and everything in between will be on one side.

The other side facing the kitchen is a custom bookshelf that has a wide circular window. This is also a part of the living area, which is at the corner, towards the very end.

It’s a well-placed kitchen.

Juxtaposed for optimal viewing.

The living area is cantilevered at the edge overlooking the ravine and the waterfall to its side. It is accentuated with paintings on the wall.

The last part of the tour is their bedroom, situated on the floor above. The whole 40-foot container was divided into 3 sections.

The two sides comprise bedrooms, and the bathroom is placed in the middle for easy access.

Both bedrooms have skylights for viewing.

The kids’ bedroom has a queen-sized bed with another lofted bed. The bathroom in the middle is fully functional with a toilet, sink, and shower area.

Last but not least is the master bedroom.

It is situated on the other side of the container and is also cantilevered with big windows to show the best view of the place.

All in all, Seth and Emily had fun making the Roca Boxhop.
