When designing something, it’s important to have a plan. It helps make sure that you won’t make mistakes or ruining your design.
Unfortunately, not all people listen to this piece of advice. They’d rather go with their guts and regret their awful designs after.
If you are planning on redecorating or renovating your home, be extra careful. Make sure you won’t be doing any of the following design fails.
1. This sink.
Admit it. This sink probably made you think about the Sims. The only thing that’s missing in this photo is the character carrying dirty dishes.
2. A very unique but weird bathroom
There are so many wrong things in this design. First, the toilet is diagonal. It’s partially installed, too. Plus, the walls are covered with carpet!
3. No sense of privacy
This toilet is the first thing you’ll see when you enter the house. And the worst part? It doesn’t even have a door.
4. What drain?
You don’t need to be an expert to know that there’s something wrong with this drain. With how it’s positioned, there’s no way it’ll drain water as you shower.
5. Illusion or trap?
These stairs will keep you on your toes quite literally. If you don’t pay attention, you’ll end up with serious injuries.
6. Crazy toilet
This toilet doesn’t look comfortable to use. Cleaning it is probably extra hard, too. You’d need a really tough scrubber for this.
7. Not your typical bathroom
At first glance, you wouldn’t think it’s a bathroom. It looks more like a jukebox room. The owner should consider getting neon lights and a soda fountain.
8. Weird but practical
It’s odd, yes. However, if you really consider the design, it seems practical, too. By placing your toilet paper in that spot, you won’t have to reach for it anymore.
9. Weird materials for kitchen cabinets
This is what you’ll get when you ask a sofa maker to do this type of job for you. With that kind of material, your cabinets won’t be recognizable.
10. Extra challenging shower
This is the kind of shower you should get if you like to challenge yourself. With that stone, keeping your balance while showering won’t be that easy.
11. Not what you think it is
Nope, that’s not a mirror. It’s just a weird doorway trying to trick your eye.
12. What’s that fridge doing there?
When designing your kitchen, it’s a good idea to keep your floor space as open as possible. This helps you quickly move around when preparing meals. However, this homeowner chose to do the exact opposite by placing his fridge in the middle of his kitchen.
13. Tricky stairs
If you have large feet, you should stay away from this kind of stairs. There’s no way you would be able to safely use it without falling over and breaking both of your ankles.
14. Never too much
This person is probably a hard fan of crown molding. The layers suggest how obsessed he is with the thing.
15. Confusing design
This is probably what happens when a couple can’t decide how to design their bathroom. Everything just looks confusing here.
16. Yep, it fits.
This homeowner is probably too in love with the fridge. He found a way to make it fit in that spot even when it doesn’t look like it belongs there.
17. A pain to look at
These are the colors you should be avoiding when you’re designing your kitchen. It’s not fun to look at. In fact, the longer you stare at it, the more painful it becomes for the eyes.
18. No words for this.
There are so many wrong things with this room’s design. From the toilet to the chair, everything about it is just awful.
19. That head
First of all, why is that head in the bathroom? And why is it bleeding? It’s super creepy!
20. Not good for the toes
That edge needs a rubber guard or even a contrasting tape. I feel sorry for the toes that will hit that spot. I’m pretty sure they will all end up bleeding.
21. A second set of door
Whoever designed this house needs to review his lessons. That way, he won’t do such a costly mistake.
22. After a kitchen remodel
Clearly, someone’s not that good with measurements. Nothing’s lining up here and it’s mildy irritating.
23. For what?
It’s not clear what that extra square inch of raised carpet is for. I think it’s placed there just to annoy people.
24. A master suite in a ‘normal’ house
This is a bathroom turned into a nightmare. It’s hard to understand what the design meant. All I know is that it’s creepy.
Everything’s not up to code here. Even if the homeowner managed to get everything to work, it’s still probably not safe.
26. No real purpose
The fan is probably fake. The ceiling doesn’t allow it to suck in air so it’s useless.
27. Clean as you go in.
This is a nice design to implement these days. With it, you can easily shove your clothes in the washing machine and disinfect quickly.
28. Like a queen
With that cover, it’s easy to feel like royalty when using the toilet. The color is quite nice, too.
29. Grandma’s bathroom
This grandma has a weird taste in design. From the carpet to the basket of flowers, everything about this bathroom just feels weird.
30. Simply horrifying
Honestly, the tile’s design looks like minced meat. It’s hard to feel comfortable soaking in the tub when your tiles look like this.
31. Like an obstacle course
The designer who made this was probably trying to come up with a unique design. Unfortunately, he came up with an awful one.
This homeowner deserves to be praised for his commitment to finish this project. The design? Well, not so much. It’s bad.
33. Purple, anyone?
If you’re a fan of this color, you might love this toilet room’s design. As for the shark, I’m not really sure about that. It’s hard to use the toilet when you know there’s a shark right above your head.
34. Social distancing
Even in the tub, there needs to be social distancing. You need to protect yourself from the virus at all times, right?
35. Showering with blinds
This may or may not be an awful design depending on your preference. Some people actually think it’s alright since blinds make it easier to keep one’s privacy.
36. The new apartment’s toilet
You’ll need to be really skinny to be able to properly use this toilet. It’s so narrow!
37. All in one
You won’t get lost in this house. Everything you need is in one place- literally. The room has the tub, kitchen, and living area.
38. No need for windows
The designer somehow decided that a window isn’t necessary anymore. He closed it and added a pillar.
39. Straight onto a light switch
The owner probably doesn’t want to reach for the switch each time he closes the door. If that’s not the case, then it’s just a crappy design.
40. Problem solved
This is one clever person. He was able to find a solution for the bulb. Unfortunately, he’s not that great in designing. That custom door doesn’t look good at all.
41. A crappy solution
There has to be a better way to design this railing. That angle made it look like it’s broken.
