Sometimes, we get “clever” ideas about solving something, only to realize that it didn’t work the way we planned it.
It clearly should have just stayed in our minds.
It may look promising, smart, and a fantastic way to solve something, like transporting a mattress, for example. However, when you apply that idea, you slowly realize that it’s not going to work, but hey, would you tell that to everyone?
That’s why most of the time, you’d just go along with it. You can attempt to do it, and who knows? It might just work!
These 50 people will demonstrate to you what a “bad idea” looks like, or to be more specific, they’ll show you how NOT to move a mattress.
Take a deep breath first before you start the slideshow. Be prepared to laugh, cringe, and shake your head in disappointment with these men who had “clever” ideas on how to move their mattresses.
1. Strong Arm
Considering this guy is only holding and supporting the mattress with his arm/hand, you’d think that they would drive carefully, but nope.
It seems that they’re really confident about him having a solid grip that they can just drive fast like that.
2.Why? How?
So many questions here. Did they really think this would work? Why “secure” the mattress using the door handles and the side mirror? How would they even get out of that car now?

3. Jenga Mattress
When you’re driving, and you see this, you can’t help but feel nervous. Just look at those seven mattresses all stacked up. Maybe the person who thought of this idea loved playing Jenga.
4. Free Mattress Delivery
Okay, even if it says free, you wouldn’t really want your mattress to be stacked up like that, right? We are hoping they’re still figuring out how to secure them before actually driving off.
5. Just here to deliver your mattress
Okay, so this is quite dangerous because you might end up in an accident, plus, the owner wouldn’t really like that you’re already sitting on their new mattress.
6. Delivering your mattress with style
The car is totally cool, and who wouldn’t want their mattress to be delivered using this car. Well, even if it’s not really possible, they are making it work by using this guy’s arm for support and a lot of determination.
7. Dude, hold on!
We’re not sure if they were playing or practicing how they would transport these mattresses. It sure looks fun and dangerous as well.
8. If there’s a will, there’s a way – sort of
This guy sure is confident about his idea on how to take home his new mattress. And in a way, it’s a good thing that he’s optimistic because we aren’t.
9. Masking tape will do the trick
Woah, see that? We’re trying to find out where the ropes are, but we can’t see them. Seems like they put all their faith on that masking tape.
10. Just like surfing dude
This guy is totally nailing it! He’s enjoying the feel of the wind, the fast car, and that mattress that he uses as a surfboard. There’s nothing like land surfing!
11. The flying mattress
When you’re trying to prove something or maybe save some delivery fee, please make sure you think it through. This person didn’t secure the mattress that ended up flying on the highway. It could have caused an accident.
12. Expert level 100
Who needs a truck and a rope when you have this for a delivery guy? This is a very dangerous stunt, so please don’t try this if you’re not an expert.
13. Cool way of delivering mattresses
This is actually a cool way to deliver mattresses. Still, it should be done with caution, safety, proper securing of the mattresses, and of course, experience.
14. The mattress man
This guy can be a superhero for mattresses, and we shall call him “The Mattress Man” because, as you can see, his talent is out of this world.
Suddenly, my neck hurts.
15. Hope it works
We don’t know who came up with this idea, but it certainly is funny! It seems that their logic here is that their weight would prevent the mattress from flying. What do you think?
16. Chilling With A Breeze
While waiting to get on the ferry, another driver looks over to see a dude chilling under some blankets on a mattress strapped to the roof of his car. I think I would have gotten out my camera too.

18. Quite The Balancing Feat
I wish we knew the backstory behind this, but we will say there’s a lot going on with balance and and at least for that moment he was keeping it all together.
19. It’s Not Going To Hold Much Longer
The passenger of the car behind immediately got out their camera to film this mattress whipping around. The driver seemed unaware and it doesn’t appear those straps were going to hold much longer.
20. At Least It’s Small
It certainly isn’t something you see everyday, but at least it’s a small mattress. Still, it can’t be very safe though.
21. Do They Even Know?
Apparently they ran over a mattress that flew off someone else’s vehicle. But yet, they are still driving down the road. I guess they aren’t aware of what is happening?

Pictures were taken for proof – this is what happens when driving 70 mph down the highway with a mattress not secured properly.
23. Dude In The Back
Look closely . . . do you see the dude in the back holding down the mattresses best he can driving down the road? And it doesn’t appear any straps are being used. Let’s hope that they aren’t planning on going very far.

There is not one safe thing about this. Not one.

At first glance you wonder if that is a person hanging out the car window doing their best to hold onto the mattress – and yes, as unbelievable as it is, that is what you are seeing.
26. Seven Mattresses . . . One Car
When you see something like this, you have to capture it on film. While driving down the road in Phoenix, AZ a small car with seven mattresses were strapped on the top. Just when you think you’ve seen it all . . .
27. Again, Please Don’t Do This
When one thinks of all the things that could go wrong, a moving truck would be a far, far better option than taking a risk like this.
28. People Just Underestimate The Power Of The Wind
Sure, they probably thought enough ropes were added, but clearly they underestimated the amount really needed.

Sure, cars can hold a lot of things to move. But, I think it’s safe to say they really aren’t designed to move mattresses.

The person capturing this photo reported last week they saw a limo pulling a boat, and this week a mattress strapped to the car. Who knows what lurks around the corner next . . .
31. At Least They Are Strapped On
It does appear they have at least used rope to tie these mattresses down, but lets just hope they won’t go 45 mph as the speed limit gives for the road they are on.

Not only does the driver have his arm out, the passenger in the backseat is offering his arm too. I guess it’s a good thing there are at least two because we aren’t seeing any ropes.

Apparently the driver of the truck felt it was unnecessary to tie down the mattress, and you guessed it. It flew right out of the truck sailing across the highway.
35. Apparently They Didn’t Want To Make More Than One Trip
So, they just kept on stacking and stacking the mattresses.

The other vehicle was driving down the freeway and it just goes to prove you just never know what you are going to see.

Even transporting one mattress strapped on top of a mini-van seems a little sketchy. But three?

But will they be strong enough? It looks like the mattress is doing its best to test every bit of strength they have to offer.

Though it does appear straps are being used – it also appears not enough of them are to keep the mattresses laying down flat.
