The warm weather is coming. This means DIY pedicure season is among us. And that means we’ll be busting out our bottles of nail polish to make our fingers and toes look pretty.
Some of us will wade through a dozen or more bottles of this stuff. If you’re anything like me, you have more bottles of nail polish than you know what to do with. But if you go through this slideshow, then you will know exactly what to do with them.
Nail polish can really come in handy around the house. It can solve all types of household problems. It can stop a fray and even seal a stubborn envelope.
Here Are 55 Things You Never Knew You Could Do With Nail Polish:
Sometimes a seam fray may mean the end of your favorite garment. But not if you know a trick. Coat the fray in clear nail polish to stop it from spreading.
Threading a needle can be really tricky. Especially if the string starts to fray. Dab the end of the string in clear nail polish and let it dry. This will make threading much easier.
Want to distinguish your house key from the shed key? Color code them. Use nail polish and make each key a different color so you’ll know which is which.
Some people say that they use clear nail polish as a liquid bandaid. If anything I’d put a regular bandaid over it first and apply nail polish to keep the bandage from slipping off. Not sure if your doctor would agree that this is such a good idea, you might want to ask him or her first.
Cheap quality rings can turn your finger green or black. Use clear nail polish to prevent a green ring around your finger. Just coat the inside of the ring that touches your finger.
Did you get a tear in your nail? If it’s too short to pull or clip off, try to seal it up. Snip off a piece of unused tea bag, please it over the nail tear, and coat it in clear nail polish.
You can fix a small tear in a window screen with clear nail polish. Push the tear back into place as best as you can. Coat it with two coats of nail polish. Just let the first coat dry before you apply the second coat.
Don’t get caught with a missing button while you’re out and about. You can save it with nail polish. Pull the thread so that the button isn’t loose and dab both sides with clear nail polish.
Did a tiny pebble leave a crack in your windshield? Dab it with some clear nail polish. This will prevent the crack from spreading until you get it fixed.
Want to remember where the perfect shower temperature is? Use nail polish. Just draw a line in the position where the handle is at the perfect temperature.
This is another one I wouldn’t personally do. BUT you can reduce your salt intake by using nail polish. Paint over a few holes of your salt shaker and let dry. It will prevent some salt from pouring out.
34) Decorate A Glass
Do you have a wine glass that needs to be jazzed up? Use some nail polish. You can paint an image, some polka dots, or use the marble method.
Did you have an accident with your cell phone? Cover the shattered glass with some clear nail polish. It will prevent the shatter from cutting you or spreading.
Tired of fumbling for your remote control in the dark? Make it glow-in-the-dark. Just paint the important buttons with some glow-in-the-dark nail polish.
Don’t buy a new pair of sunglasses. Make over your old ones. Give them a new design with nail polish. Just cover the lenses with petroleum jelly while you paint. You can wipe it away when the paint dries.
Yet another one I can’t fully sign off on. However, some people say that you can painlessly remove ticks that dug too deep into your skin by coating the bite over with nail polish. It will cut off their air supply forcing them to come to the surface so you can easily remove them.
