Who doesn’t love scrambled eggs?

1. ) Always use a non-stick pan

Non-stick pans aren’t always a necessity, but when it comes to cooking perfect scrambled eggs – they are. Using a cast-iron pan or a stainless steel pan can lead to burnt eggs on the bottom and sides. Plus, you’ll be scraping cooked-on egg off the pan for way too long.

2.) Break your eggs in a bowl, not the pan

It might help with the amount of dishes you wash in the end, but avoid breaking your eggs directly into the pan and do it into a bowl instead. If you break them into the pan, they won’t have any time to get oxygen mixed into them, making them flat and lifeless. When you break them into a bowl, you can whip them first with a fork or whisk. Hello, soft, fluffy eggs!

3.) Water is better than milk

Lots of people reach for a splash of cream or milk to throw in with their scrambled eggs, thinking that it helps make them richer or creamier. But, actually, that’s not the case. Milk or cream weighs down the egg, making them less fluffy. Instead, use water! Don’t worry, you can add a bit of richness in a minute.

4.) Keep the heat low

Faster isn’t always better. Sure, you can crank the heat way up and cook the eggs in a couple of minutes, but, why sacrifice quality? Scrambled eggs don’t take long to cook, even on low heat. Plus, it’s best to cook on low heat because it will keep their moisture locked in instead of burning it away on high heat.

5.) Make them your kind of perfect

Yes, scrambled eggs are scrambled eggs, however, people tend to have preferences when it comes to the details. Some people like them in large, fluffy chunks, while other people like them in smaller bites.

“If you like those large pieces, use a rubber spatula to make long, sweeping motions across the surface, covering as much of the egg as you can in one swoop. If you like smaller bits of egg, use that same rubber spatula to make small circles in the eggs to break them up,” says Cooktop Cove.

6.) It’s time for the butter

Just because you didn’t add milk or cream, doesn’t mean there won’t be some delicious, creamy richness. Break out the butter! Right when the eggs are just about cooked to perfection, add a spoonful or two of butter. Let it melt and then stir it into the eggs. Yummy!

7.) Season to your liking

Your eggs could be whipped and cooked to perfection, but without seasoning? They’re bland, boring, and not very yummy. Once they’re cooked and the butter has been added, now it’s time to season them. A pinch of salt, some fresh herbs, or some grated cheese are a perfect complement to this simple yet divine dish!

Ta-da! You’re all done! Happy eating and don’t forget to share these little tricks with your friends and family.
