As the price of living gets higher and higher, we’ve begun to see the rise of tiny apartments and houses. For single and often young people who are just becoming adults, the desire to move into the urban center of a city is a familiar desire. Still, the real estate in these areas is also the most prohibitively expensive, typically speaking. To bring the price of rent down, millennials and other city dwellers are considering smaller and smaller apartments home—and getting truly creative with the space they do have.

Though you may have seen tiny New York apartments before, you’ve never seen anything like this 75 square-foot apartment in Rome, Italy.

Though the apartment is only 75 square feet, the home does have two separate levels.

It was designed by architect Marco Pierazzi and is billed as the smallest apartment in all of Italy! Still, the home includes all the necessities of any apartment and comes fully furnished. On the main floor serving as a central room is a kitchenette and dining area.

It comes complete with an electric stovetop, refrigerator and small dining table.

Through the back of the kitchen is a bathroom and a shower with a sliding glass door separating it from the kitchen. Though it is snug, the bathroom has modern fixtures including a sink with a mirror, a toilet, a shower and a standing medicine cabinet.

The floors and the walls also feature beautiful tile work!

Following the stairs up from the main floor leads through a trap door in the upper level onto the mezzanine.

The mezzanine has a double bed set up futon-style which can comfortably sleep two people when it is unfolded. There’s also a flatscreen TV mounted on the wall and exposed brick decorating the room to give it more character.

When nobody is sleeping, the room also functions as a comfortable living room!

Simply fold the bed up into a sofa and invite friends over to enjoy the space with you. The area is also safely protected from the bottom floor by a steel guardrail looking over the kitchen below.

As an added bonus, the home is only blocks away from St. Peter’s Basilica and other beautiful attractions.

Although it’s tiny and you may have to find somewhere else to do your laundry, this apartment actually seems very comfortable.
