When you are a landlord, you should be as investigative as a detective, which includes knowing your future tenants’ background. It shouldn’t be that much of a bother. After all, it is your property that they will be staying at so better yet know what type of renters you are about to have.
Lucky are those property owners who had decent tenants. Those who pay their rent on time and take good care of the place, treating it like it’s theirs.
However, when fate takes an ugly turn, there would also be those who would bring the place into an unimaginable state where no homeowner would be happy about.
While most landlords or landladies have bad tenants, this one had the worst!
For landlord Thomas Rayaux, he had dilemmas receiving monthly rent from this set of renters, but that’s not the only problem because apart from that, these people also left his place in a bad shape.
It’s a nightmare that no homeowner would ever wish to experience in real life.
First impressions never last!
When Rayaux first had this group of people to rent his place, he was confident that everything will turn out just fine. However, his expectation took an unfortunate turn when things turn out pretty “messy” and “ugly”.
They didn’t pay for a total of 14 months of stay!
Yes, you read that right, these thick-skinned people didn’t bother paying their landlord a single penny for over a year of stay in the apartment. It almost looked like they wanted to stay there free of charge.
Whenever Rayaux was asking for their monthly rent, there was always an excuse after another excuse. The time came when he’s already done listening to the same excuse.
He decided to visit them so that they could talk about the issue of their non-payment. Instead of getting decent and acceptable answers from them, he was shocked by what he saw.
Missing floor!
It’s not because someone forcibly took the floor off, it’s because there was too much trash that you wouldn’t even see the floor of the apartment. That’s the immense amount of trash scattered all over the place. It’s unimaginable!
In fact, he struggled to open the door because a mountain of garbage was blocking the door. When he started visiting each room, there was only more trash, it’s something a person in the right state of mind would never do.
There was trash everywhere, even on the outside. It’s an unacceptable treatment and total disrespect of Rayaux’s property. From there, he knew he needed to teach them a lesson.
Time to call his attorney.
Rayaux decided to call his attorney first before doing any action towards this “messy” incident. He wanted to make sure he was not breaking any law. When he got the answer he’s looking for – he taught these tenants a lesson they would never forget.
He also called a dump truck company. Though he was a bit hesitant about his plan, he still made sure that his actions wouldn’t bring him any trouble, especially with the police. Thankfully, even the authorities assured him that he was not breaking any law.
An act of revenge that’s as sweet as sugar.
He proceeded with his plan and loaded a dump truck with everything these ungrateful and disrespectful tenants left behind his place.
Then after tracing their address, he drove to their place and dumped everything there – all on their driveway! That’s how you teach some irresponsible people a lesson!
Come to think of it, he just gave back what rightfully belongs to them, wouldn’t you agree? They should be thankful Rayaux took the time of returning their stuff.
He even gained a lot of support online after sharing the story and photos on social media. He absolutely did a great job and we hope it becomes a lesson to those tenants who plan on doing the same thing.
