If you’re struggling with your messy bathroom, believe me – you’re not the only one. Turns out, keeping your bathroom organized and clean is actually a lot harder than you’d think, especially when you have so many hair products and appliances and makeup and perfumes – the list goes on. Plus, once you have all of your stuff strewn everywhere, it’s nearly impossible to clean anything.

That’s why we’re here to break down the 9 essential need-to-know tips on how to keep your bathroom perfectly organized and easier to clean. Let’s break it down.

1. Bite the bullet and organize your medicine cabinet.

I know, it’s probably a hot mess, but it’s time. Cleaning out your medicine cabinet not only opens up a ton of free space, but it also helps your health. Throw away any and all items past their sell-by date – trust me, you’re way better off not using that expired junk.

2. Invest in a makeup organizer.

These things are literally so cheap that you have no reason to keep all of your makeup shoved into a drawer somewhere. This will not only help you realize what you actually use on a day-to-day basis, but also keep your makeup from spilling everywhere.

3. Shower caddies are secretly your best friend.

So apparently showers can be one of the dirtiest places in your house due to mold build up (ew!). Getting a shower caddy will keep your shower cleaner by not allowing a pocket of mold that you gloss over because your shampoo and conditioner are sitting on it.

4. Also, drawer organizers. You can’t go wrong with these.

You seriously can’t. This will keep all of your stuff perfectly in its own little space so that way you don’t clutter up your counters ever again.

5. Plan your chores ahead of time.

I know, how does this relate to a better organized bathroom? Well, it turns out that studies show that if you regularly clean your space, you also tend to keep things in their proper order and don’t let things begin to clutter and pile up. Science!

6. Use creative storage units.

So maybe you don’t have space for that 4ft x 6ft adorable wooden cabinet, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be smart about storage. Take a good look around your bathroom and look for unused space, like under a sink for example. Try to imagine how you can use this to your advantage. Trust me, this really works.

7. Apothecary jars are so in style and oh-so helpful.

If you’re like me you probably spend forever searching for hair ties or brushes or that one clip that you absolutely love. No more! Buy some apothecary jars from your local dollar store and you’re setting yourself up for some organizational success right away.

8. Make sure everything in your bathroom has a place and a purpose.

If you tend to hold onto products that you know you never use, you might want to try this neat trick. Label some bins based on what you use these items for, and figure out what you actually end up using and what just gathers dust.

9. Use that toilet space!

For most people, the toilet is the part of the bathroom that you’d probably like to leave untouched, but installing a handy storage rack on top can actually save you a ton of space. Plus, you will never run out of toilet paper again!
