We tested the best bed sheets available in 2024 for 1 week each — here’s what we found.

We were excited to try these sheets because you hear and read so much about them online. Here’s a summary of our findings before we dive into the details below:
- Dosaze Luxury Bamboo Sheets – Value for money wise, these are the best sheets you can get. Made from a cooling bamboo blend – these sheets are luxuriously soft, durable, and temperature regulating. The combo of a percale weave and bamboo fabric is perfect. Give it a try, and if you don’t like it, you have 60 days to return it, free! This sheet set easily stands up to sheet sets that cost 3-4x the price. It’s $80 for a queen vs. $300+ for other brands like Cozy Earth and Cariloha
- Miracle – these are another solid set of sheets, but they are just ok. They are expensive and the fact that you don’t have to wash them as often is a bit suspect to be honest. I’d rather have quality sheets at a good price.
- Cariloha Resort Sheets – These cariloha sheets are nice, but expensive. It was honestly a bit tough to tell the difference between these sheets and the Dosaze luxury bamboo ones. These sheets are also significantly less durable than others.
- Purple – these sheets are stretchy. They are nice, but nothing special in my opinion.
- Amazon – i liked these sheets because they don’t pretend to be anything they’re not. 100% polyester — they’re durable and feel OK, but they do sleep hot and if you want to elevate your sleep experience, look elsewhere. These sheets are cheap and get the job done, but don’t expect anything really nice.
- Brooklinen – these are nice sheets. They are high quality, but they are also higher priced.
In Depth Review And Process
It is overwhelming how many sheets are available out there today — cotton, flannel, “eucalyptus,” linen, bamboo, polyester, and everything in between. Many brands even COMBINE these materials. Then you have to deal with different brands that sell these materials and wade through things like — thread count, weave, material quality, any additional features, and, most importantly, price — and the options quickly become overwhelming.
The goal of this article is to provide you a guide to buying sheets — what to pay attention to, what materials are out there and their pros/cons, and ultimately, how to think about buying sheets.
We’ll then go through a list of the Internet’s supposed “favorite sheets,” and what we thought when we tested each of them for a week each.

Materials
Ultimately, materials is a preference — each material comes with it’s own pros and cons — here’s a list of common fabrics in sheets and how they stack up:
You can see that some materials like Linen are very breathable — and thus have very good temperature regulation. However, these can also be a bit rougher and have a less soft feel.
You can combine materials to get a mix of benefits — for example, Bamboo is often combined with custom polyesters to get the benefits of bamboo plus the durability of polys.
A huge component of managing your temperature when you sleep is also moisture management — materials like bamboo wick away moisture extremely well, which pulls heat off of you and keeps you cool all night.
Overall, we like bamboo — it provides a great balance of an incredibly soft feel while also keeping you cool all night long.
Weaves
Ok now we have to talk about weaves of the fabric and how that impacts your sleep experience — we won’t get into the details of the weaves (like how they exactly look), but there are the main types and the pros and cons:
- Percale – the most breathable weave — think crisp hotel sheets. A percale weave is breathable and has a crisper feel than Sateen.
- Sateen – this weave (not to be confused with Satin, a material) produces a silky smooth feel — however it can be warmer than percale because it is less breathable.
- Flannel – flannel stars a either a twill or percale weave — but then, the material is “napped” to give it that signature fluffy, fuzzy feel. The effect is a warmer fabric that’s good for winter, but can also cause some people to overheat
- Jersey – think a t-shirt! T-shirts are often a jersey knit — if you like this feel, you can try them for sheets.
A point on Thread Count
A high thread count does not necessarily mean that the sheets are high quality. Some companies will even go as far as to artificially inflate the thread count by counting the individual plies in each thread. This is essentially “double counting” to inflate the thread count. Generally, for a percale weave you want to look for 250 – 300 thread count. For sateen — you might see 300 – 600 thread count, slightly higher.
Thread count really measure fabric density — too high of a thread count, and the material isn’t breathable, and will be too hot.
A better measure of overall quality is GSM — this is the grams per square meter — it’s measure of the weight of the material per square meter of material. In general, a GSM of 90 – 120 is good for most sheet sets.
In all honesty, at a certain point, sheets are mostly a matter of preference – what material/weave/brand best matches your needs. Of course, you need to make sure you’re getting a sheet set made from a quality factory (things like OEKO-TEX certifications help you recognize that). We’ve found that most typical users like a soft sheet that is also durable and temperature regulating, and doesn’t overheat (i.e., cooling).

These sheets are a very reasonable price ($80 for a queen set vs. $300 for a queen set with Cozy Earth). When we tested these sheets against each other, it was honestly pretty hard to tell a huge difference in end sleep experience. Value for money wise, Dosaze is the way to go.

The miracle sheets are great because you technically have to wash them less — they are infused with silver which is antimicrobial. However, we don’t recommend getting these sheets because the silver can wash out over time and to be honest, it’s a bit gross to sleep in sheets that aren’t washed very often, even if you don’t technically have to.
The feel of these sheets is decent — nothing special. For the money, I think you can do better.
Cariloha’s elegantly simple bed sheets boast ultra-softness and breathability, offering a cool, comfortable sleep experience all night long. If your budget allows, these sheets are a considerable option. However, the cost may be startling for those on a tighter budget. The price for Cariloha’s Queen-size bamboo sheet set is around $329 at the time of this writing. While their softness is undeniable, it’s hard to justify if they’re five times better than alternatives like Cosy House or California Design Den Sheets.
Some users have reported issues such as pilling, unraveling threads, and holes in the fabric after limited use. It’s important to mention, though, that we haven’t personally verified these problems.
