I saw a video about how good Silk Pillowcases are for your skin and hair on TikTok, so I decided to try a few out and see which was best. Here’s the winner:

The Best Silk Pillowcase for Your Skin, Hair, And Sleep in 2023: Dosaze Silk Pillowcase

The Dosaze Silk Pillowcase is by far my favorite silk pillowcase – it has all of the properties of a high quality silk pillowcase that you love and need (absorbs less creams so your product stays on your face, reduces friction on your hair, and reduces friction on your skin so it reduces wrinkling and creases), but has the added benefit of the silver, which is antimicrobial (and so combats acne and other breakouts). This pillowcase essentially offers the best of both worlds (think blissy/slip + silvon). And to top it off, it is reasonably priced for a silk pillowcase as well.

Features:

  • 60-night sleep trial
  • First time discount
  • 3 year warranty
  • Free shipping
  • Hidden zipper closure
  • High thread count
  • Cooling
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Good for skin & hair
  • Silver infused fabric

Here’s the list of pillows my husband and I tried (in alphabetical order):

I was excited to try these pillows because you hear and read so much about them online. Here’s a summary of my findings before I dive into the details below:

  • Blissy – a popular option, but I personally found it not worth the hype. There are better options for your money.
  • Dosaze Silver & Silk Pillowcase – this was definitely my favorite silk pillowcase option. My face doesn’t stick to the pillowcase, it is so soft, and my hair also loves it. I love the added antimicrobial benefit of the silver, which has been great for my acne!
  • HoneyDew Silk Pillowcase – I didn’t love the exposed zipper on this, and the fabric quality was just okay.
  • LilySilk Pillowcase – this is a lower momme option, and you can definitely tell by the way it feels
  • PureCare Silk Pillowcase – this is way too expensive ($193!) and you definitely cannot tell the difference from some of the other options.
  • Slip – this is a solid option, but I prefer the Dosaze Silk Pillowcase because it is a bit cheaper and has the added benefit of the silver!

Here is my detailed thought process on the other silk pillowcases we tried below:

LilySilk

Next up is the LilySilk Mulberry Silk Pillowcase. Like the Dosaze pillowcase, it’s made from 100% mulberry silk, but its thread count is lower and it features a 19 momme weight, making it smooth, but not as smooth and durable as the Dosaze. The envelope closure is not as robust as a hidden zipper closure, but Lily Silk is also machine washable, which is a plus. It’s priced at $39, so if you don’t mind going down a little bit in quality, you can save a good amount of money on a decent pillowcase.

Features:

  • Envelope closure
  • 30 day returns
  • Free shipping over $69
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Machine Washable

Purecare Silk Pillowcase

The PureCare Sleep Silk Pillowcase is another top contender. It’s made from 100% pure silk and treated with silver to keep your bedding fresher for longer. It’s also hypoallergenic and machine washable. It’s the priciest on our list at $169.99, but the beautiful piping may be worth it for some looking for a hotel look and feel.

Features:

  • 22 momme
  • Silver antimicrobial product protection
  • Luxury piping
  • 30 day returns
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Gentle on hair and skin

HoneyDew Silk Pillowcase

The HoneyDew Silk Pillowcase is another high-quality option made from 100% mulberry silk. It has a high thread count and a hidden zipper closure to keep it in place on your pillow. It’s also machine washable, however, it’s specifically designed for side sleeper pillows with a divot in the middle, so it may not be the best option for your pillow.

Features:

  • 22 momme
  • Zipper closure
  • Made for side sleeper pillows
  • 1 year warranty

Blissy

The blissy pillowcase is a popular one online – so we thought we’d give it a try to see if it is worth the hype. It is a solid silk pillowcase! I enjoyed using it, but my one concern was that the returns and exchanges are not free. This is something to keep in mind because you probably want to try the pillowcase before you commit to buying it.

Some customers also reported having issues with shipping, according to TrustPilot, so that is just something to watch out for.

Slip

Slip is another Internet favorite that I thought I’d try out! This is another good option, but it is on the pricier end. The pillowcase is quite soft, but my issue is that the site doesn’t publish reviews on the product. When I looked at Sephora, I saw that some people report that the materials are relatively poor quality and rip easily

This is definitely something to watch out for when purchasing a premium item like this.
