The 1970s sitcom The Brady Bunch became synonymous with traditional American culture. Considered one of the last “old-style” family series of its day, thousands of children grew up watching the antics of Marcia, Greg, Jan, Peter, Cindy, and Bobby Brady. Now, for the first time since the show’s premiere in 1969, the iconic home where the family “lived” is now up for sale.

The Brady Bunch home, located at 11222 Dilling Street in Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood, is currently on the market for a whopping 1.885 million dollars.

Although it’s being sold for half a million more than the neighborhood’s median asking price, producers of the show originally selected it for its modest appearance. “We didn’t want it to be too affluent, we didn’t want it to be too blue-collar,” Sherwood Schwarts, the show’s creator, told the LA Times in a 1994 interview. “We wanted it to look like it would fit a place an architect would live.”

From the outside, Brady Bunch superfans will notice a few differences.

According to the Washington Post, the house has been painted a lighter color and now has a large window located to the right of the door.

In the show, the house was supposed to comfortably fit six children, two parents, and a housekeeper. Unfortunately, a real family this size would probably be a bit a crowded. According to the house’s listing, it is only a 2-bedroom property. Fans may be disappointed to learn that producers only used the property to represent the exterior of the fictional house. All scenes filmed “inside” were actually shot on a soundstage— meaning the actors never actually set foot in this residence.

When you enter the home, you are greeted by a formal dining area sitting beneath a lovely peaked ceiling.

“The closet on the left acts as a divider between the dining space and the front entrance. A view of the eat-in kitchen in the far-left of the frame shows room for a more casual eating area that looks out to the front yard,” Anthony Barcelo of the Washington Post explained.

And one of the home’s three bathrooms.

Anthony Barcelo aptly notes:

“You can almost picture Marcia Brady brushing her hair 100 times in front of the mirror.”

From the backyard, on the left, you see a former garage which has now been converted into a den.

The entire yard is surrounded by thick, dense bushes— providing some much-needed privacy for anyone living in the 2nd most photographed house in America.
