Keeping your bathroom clean is a necessity for many people. After all, going into an unkempt and unclean bathroom is the last place most people want to be.
Not only does keeping your bathroom clean help combat nasty germs, but the act of maintaining a clean environment can do wonders for your mental and physical health.
While there are several tips and tricks to help keep ones home clean, some require a good amount of planning beforehand and materials that you may not have on-hand.
However, there are some simple and easy things you can do to help keep your home smelling great and looking brand new.
Because it is currently hurricane season, you have probably come across many articles about them. Some of these articles might even share tips on what to do before, during, and after a hurricane to help keep you and your family safe.
A tip that has gained popularity over the years is filling your bathtub up with water before a hurricane. That way, you and your family will have water for cleaning and flushing the toilet if you lose access to it.
It’s important to note that many articles suggest drinking this water. However, according to the Red Cross, that water is unsafe and shouldn’t be consumed. Even if it has been boiled.
Boiling the water can get rid of other pollutants but it doesn’t get rid of lead.
Naturally, if one has to use the stored water from their tub as a main source of water, you likely want the tub to be clean.
If so, we’ve got just the tip for you.
According to The Kitchn, there is a simple and easy way to clean your bathtub using materials you probably already have.
All you need is a clean broom, or brush, and kitchen soap.
That’s right, kitchen soap can get the job done! Rather than using those harmful bleach cleaners, dish soap cuts down on grease and removes stains without the overpowering scent of bleach.
Dish soap can also get rid of unwanted buildup and gunk in the tub including on the faucets and knobs.
The method is simple. The first step is to take the dish soap and squirt it into your tub.
It doesn’t even need to sit!
Next, grab your broom, or brush, and scrub away! It might take a bit more elbow grease when using a brush but you’ll be glad you put the effort in.
All you have to do is scrub until the mildew and soap scum are gone.
Lastly, rinse the tub out with water.
That’s it! Your tub will look magnificently clean!
Of course, you don’t have to rely on a natural disaster to keep your bathtub sparkling clean. This method can be done at anytime. And frankly, we recommend keeping the bathroom clean.
As mentioned, not many people are thrilled about nasty bathrooms so why not stay on top of it with this easy solution?
