Most of us can think about 100 things we’d rather do than clean the house. However, most of also don’t like living in a dirty house.

So, the only solution is to make cleaning your house quick and easy as possible.

Thankfully, we have tips for that. Here are cleaning hacks that you’ll wish you had known for years.

Paint on Clothes

Spilling paint on your clothing doesn’t mean that you have to toss your clothing out. Take a razor and shave the paint off in a gentle fashion. Then you can use some dish soap and scrub with a sponge.

If the article of clothing is cotton, try using nail polish remover, hairspray, or rubbing alcohol on the stain. Watch the video below for additional methods.

Cutting Board Cleaning

Wooden cutting boards are known to carry germs if you don’t clean them properly. Get the job done by coating it in kosher salt and scrubbing it clean with a half of a lemon. Rinse and dry.

Candlewax Removal

You’ll have to act quickly in the event of a wax spill. Grab a paper bag and place it over your candle wax spill. The bag will soak up the wax. If the wax has already been heated, you can heat your iron and run it over your paper bag to re-melt and soak up the wax.

Easy Microwave Clean-Up

Pour white vinegar into a microwave safe cup and place it in your microwave for three minutes. When the time is up, continue to leave it in the microwave for a few minutes. Take the cup out and wipe away all the grime inside with a wet cloth. Everything should slide right off.

Pepper for Laundry

Adding a teaspoon of pepper to your laundry cycle will prevent your clothes from bleeding and will keep your colors vibrant.

Aluminum Foil for Glass

Bunch aluminum foil up into a ball and add some soap and water to your glass cookware. Use the ball to scrub away caked on food and debris. It works better than steel wool.

Scrub Your Sneakers

Dampen your shoes and use toothpaste and an old toothbrush to get rid of stains and dirt.

Make Faucets Shine

Dip half of a lemon in some baking soda and use it to scrub your chrome bathroom and kitchen faucets to remove water stains and soap scum. You can also use this method to clean your tub and tile.

Remove Grease Stains

Rub chalk or baby powder over your grease stain to soak up the grease. Then toss your garment in the laundry as you would normally. Check out additional methods below.

Clean out your bathroom exhaust fan with a can of compressed air.

Hard Water Toilet Stains

Pour a packet of lemon Kool Aid into your toilet and try to get some up under the rim. Let it sit for an hour so the citric acid can go to work and scrub it with a brush.

Walls

Use a Magic Eraser to get off scuff or clean light switches. You a mop to clean the walls up high. It’s best to use an all-purpose cleaner for painted walls.
