It has a lot of potential with possible scenic views if only it weren’t covered with tall grasses and trees.

It has a lot of character, but it badly needs some TLC.

They compiled a video from the start of their journey in September 2020.

The couple planned to live on the property full-time, but there’s a lot of work to do.

You can see in the first minutes of the video how much work it entailed to clear everything up.

There were existing structures of various conditions all over the property.

There was a house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, a perfect home for their family.

Tall, overgrown bushes, grasses, and trees surrounded it.

It looked like it was in good condition and could be restored to fully functioning.

The previous owners must have been farmers or horse lovers because of the number of barns around.

There were the front and back horse barns, equipment, and red barn.

There was also a log cabin on a boulder foundation. Unfortunately, the back barn and the log cabin looked like it’s beyond repair.

They were also blessed with vast pastures and many ponds.

There were a total of three ponds located at the front, back, and east of the property.

The pastures were also perfect because the couple has a lot of cows, and they sure will enjoy it there.

But before all that, time to clear up!

They showed how they slowly cleaned the property and had the equipment to do so. The couple brought powerful types of machinery such as a mower, cutter, mulcher, backhoe, and much more.

All these helped make the work bearable rather than overwhelming.

They mowed the tall grasses, which were as tall as their riding mower!

They pulled vines and chopped trees and dragged them to their “burning station,” where they gathered all the grass, weeds, vines, and trees they cleared.

See how many logs they got after all the cleaning?

As they cleared the area, they noticed wildlife running around the property.

There were deer and falcons, to name a few, and it was a sign that the place could be an excellent habitat for them.

As soon as new grasses and trees started growing, they returned, and the family was happy to see them enjoying the pasture and trees around.

Of course, they had to bring in their own farm animals!

They used the old front horse barn to house their cows because it was perfect for them to roam free outside the barn and enjoy munching on the grass.

As the couple put it, the cows are their “natural lawnmowers!”

They are almost three years in and are still working on fully restoring the property.

More mowing and cutting are needed, but they are in no hurry (not really).

They enjoyed this journey as they slowly peeled the surface and saw the land’s natural beauty.

What was once an abandoned land would soon be this family’s paradise.

Take a look at their progress for the past two years in the video below. You may also subscribe to their YouTube Channel for updates on their restoration project.
