Sometimes, we just want to get away from city life and go back to nature.
We’re so lucky nowadays because there are so many places we can choose for our retreat.
There are BNBs and small hotels set in small, quaint towns.
There are cabins and shacks in the wilderness, in the middle of nature.
And then there’s a peaceful shack nestled in the middle of the wood beside a creek.
Let’s go Retreat at Fall Branch Falls in Cherry Log, Georgia.

Named after the nearby waterfalls, this retreat is a 440 sq. ft. shack inside a gated property.
The shack was already there and the owners renovated and transformed it into a cozy getaway spot.
There’s a picnic area right outside the shack with a fire pit, where you can enjoy your lunch or have a nightcap under the stars.
If you want to stay mostly outdoors, you can do that.
They’ve built stone steps to take you to the creek.
They’ve also set up a winding trail where you can hike up to get to the waterfalls.
It’s very nice of them to set up a small deck by the falls so you can still watch the falls without getting wet.
You can still choose to go up to the water bank if you want.
Once you enter the front door of the cabin, you’ll be greeted by comfort.
On the left side is the kitchen with modern appliances, a large counter, and a dining table that seats two people but can be extended to have more room.
The owners have provided a microwave, an espresso machine, and an electric stove top range with an oven.
If you just want to stay and cook your own food, there is a full-size refrigerator inside. Yes, you’re all set.
On the right side, you’ll find a small living room with a two-person couch and an armchair.
There’s also a fireplace in the middle plus a door that leads out to the outdoor patio.
You can go out to the patio in the mornings to have your coffee.
If you’re alone or want to be alone, you can sit here with your coffee to write in your journal.
At the back of the cabin is where the bedroom is located.
It has a fluffy queen bed inside and is painted with a dark green color to match the greenery outside.
It’s a very nice color to keep you grounded as well and just relaxed.
It doesn’t feel like you have to be somewhere all the time.
You can just stay right there the whole stay.
If you plan to stay longer there, they’ve got a washer and dryer so you’re all set with your clothes and bedding.
And of course, you have a full bathroom across the bedroom with a huge tiled shower.
If it gets hot during the summer, the cabin comes with an air conditioning unit.
And if gets a little humid, there’s a ceiling fan you can use as well.
Just outside the gate, they’ve set up a hiking/walking trail so you can visit the nearby waterfalls.
It could be a good idea to bring a picnic basket so you can have your coffee and a sandwich while you enjoy the falls.
There are benches on the deck by the falls so you don’t need to worry about where to sit and enjoy your picnic.
When you go back to the cabin, you can settle by the living room or the patio to enjoy your book or writing.
If it’s not raining, you can take your wine and sit by the fire pit and have great conversations with your partner.
