Tiny houses everywhere. Rent one, buy one, if you dare.

Attempts at interesting titles aside, it is true that the tiny housing market is booming. Chad Smith, a designer of 25 years, has developed one of the first tiny house designs featuring a curved roof.

A feat of which he has named the ‘Curved 260 Micro Home’.

Whether using the term ‘tiny’, or ‘micro’, you will agree that Mr Smith’s design is breathtaking.

The curve was developed to suit the changing effects of Canada’s weather. But, it also adds more headroom to the second floor. Mr Smith will attest that it was constructed using the natural curve of cedar logs.

The entire home measures 13.6 x 10.6 x 32 ft (including the hitch) and weighs approximately 11,000 lb. It is perched on top of custom trailer, which requires a wide-load permit for towing.

And do not let Smith hear you calling this an RV! The Curved 260 Micro Home is a (very) mobile home with high-quality features.

The contrasting timber palate is subtle in displaying a sense of style and sophistication. The unimpeded walkway completes the nearly impossible task of creating the illusion of space in a tiny area. Look closely and you will notice the hardwood floors and solid doors.

The downlights compliment the window positions to highlight the elegant feel.

The living area includes a wood-burning fire place. It is connected to the kitchenette, which relies on propane burners and on-demand hot water.

The integrated storage-staircase provides easy access to the sleeping area, which was designed to allow for a quiet night’s sleep away from the sounds and smells of the rest of the house.

Who would have thought you could fit a double bed in such a small house?!

Mr Smith has designed the bathroom area to match the modern, stylish theme of the house. It includes a toilet, a well-designed sink fixture and a double head shower. The exposed timber gives the area that ‘cabin-in-the-woods’ feel.

And there you have it, folks. The Curved 260 Micro Home is currently on the market and priced at CAD 90,000 (US $71,200). It is perfect has a primary home, or as additional guest quarters.

Please SHARE this with your friends and family too, so that they don’t miss out on the opportunity to purchase this amazing feat of architectural design.
