If you are like most people, you are probably looking for a way to make your home smell better.

Everyone likes a home that smells nice. It makes it more inviting and relaxing and just more enjoyable all around. There are a lot of things you can use to make your smell good, but some of them are a little overrated and even overpriced. Fancy candles and sprays that make it hard to breathe may work in the long run, but are they worth the expense?

What if you could just make something yourself with a product you probably already use?

Well, now you can. You can whip up a fragrant spray using some baking soda, Downey Unstoppables, and some hot water. The best part about this spray is that it’s affordable, it lasts a long time, and it’s good for people who have allergies. Sounds great right?

You can use it as fabric refresher spray and apply it to your furniture, rugs, and even your curtains.

It lasts for several days, and you can use it as often as you want. It’s a great alternative to washing the fabrics in your home.

If you want to try to make another homemade linen or fabric spray, you can do so with a little bit of fabric softener. Simply choose your favorite fabric softener and mix it with some hot water in a spray bottle. You can use it just like Febreze or other types of fabric refreshers.

Of course, before you make your home smell good, you should probably take the time to actually clean it.

A good deep clean gets rid of the dirt and bacteria. You can spend a lot of money on expensive wipes and cleaner that are full of chemicals and really don’t do that great of a job, or you can just make your own. Here’s how:

Ingredients:

  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Borax
  • Baking Soda
  • Dish Soap
  • Essential Oils

Supplies:

  • Microfiber Cloths
  • Plastic Container
  • A Knife

Directions:

Step 1: Cut a slit into the lid of the plastic container and set it aside.

Step 2: Fold your cloths and place them in the container.

Step 3: In a bowl, mix all the ingredients together and pour them over the cloths.

Step 4: Allow the mixture to saturate the cloths.

Step 5: Store them in a cool place and pull them out to use them as you need them. You may need to add more liquid to them from time to time if they dry out.

These cleaning cloths will not only scrub off the dirt and grime you can see but will also kill the bacteria and viruses that you can’t see.

Use them on your counters, furniture, appliances, and more. You can even keep a box of them in your car to help keep it clean.

Making your own household products not only saves you money, it allows you to have more control over the products you use in your home and around your family. You can find more ideas and directions for household cleaners on Pinterest or experiment and come up with new ones yourself.
