With the heat approaching, it’s time to think about how to keep your home cool without raising the electric bill. Many of us may opt to use ceiling fans or portable fans in favor of air conditioning because it’s more cost-efficient. While this works, it doesn’t quite compare to this simple project presented below.
Using just a few tools, a man will teach you how to create a DIY styrofoam air cooler that is incredibly energy and cost efficient. It’s basically a homemade air conditioner!
To start, you will need an ice chest, PVC pipe, ice, and a small fan.
First, cut two holes into the lid of the cooler. Then, place a PVC pipe into one hole and a fan into the other. Put ice inside the chest. One block of ice typically lasts five hours, and larger blocks can last ten hours.
This might seem silly, but trust me, it works. In fact, the air it produces is very cold so keep that in mind.
