Just because costume jewelry isn’t made with real diamonds or precious stones, doesn’t mean that it isn’t worth caring for. Plus, who can afford real diamonds anyway? To clean the tarnish off your costume jewels, just put a few drops of lemon essential oil in some water and let the jewelry soak for 5 minutes. See Real Housemom’s technique here.

5. Shine your silver in just a couple minutes.

Sterling silver tarnishes very quickly, especially in humid climates. Quickly remove tarnish and grime by adding water, 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and a piece of aluminum foil to a pot and bringing it to a boil. Just drop your silver jewelry in and watch the tarnish vanish!
