Paul Elkins is special person. Why? He’s been touring the country for the past decade in what he calls a “stealth camper.” What’s a stealth camper? Well let me tell you this, you’re not going to believe it when you see it!
The first amazing thing? The whole home attaches to a bicycle. That’s right this home weights only 60 pounds and it cost Paul only $150 to create. Paul used four recycled fluted-plastic campaign signs he found lying around, a $20 used bicycle, six pine boards, duct tape, zip ties, and screws. It’s just not a shelter — it’s actually a fully functioning camper!
Inside the home you’ll find amenities such as a stove, a bread-pan sink, a counter, a bed, LED lighting, and even a skylight. For anyone looking to travel on a budget, this home might just be the perfect fit for you.
Paul says,
“It does show the possibilities of a new way to get around and travel or to live. You don’t have car insurance, you don’t have home insurance payments. What do you got? Food. For people who can’t afford a pickup truck and to build a little home on a trailer, maybe they could just do this and tour around. For people who are adventurers and don’t mind pulling a little weight and taking their time traveling, this I think would be a fun way to go.”
What did you think about Paul’s stealth camper? Would you ever build something like this for yourself? We want to hear your thoughts. Let us know in the comments below!
