Rugs can entirely change up your living space; however, they can get expensive. Have you considered making one of your own? It’s not as difficult as you think! With some rope, tarpaulin, and glue, you can have a new decoration for your house! Follow this tutorial to learn how to make an easy, rustic rope rug.
You Will Need:
- Tarpaulin or a drop sheet
- Around 220 yards of rope or more
- Super glue
- Scissors
Getting Started:
First lay out your tarpaulin as the base. Glue the end of the rope to the center of the tarpaulin then create a tight spiral around the center. Continue this process as you glue the rope down.
Try to wind your rope as tight as possible for a neat look. Also, apply glue in sections and not all at once in case the glue dries too fast.
When you are happy with he size of your rug, glue the end of the rope down securely, and trim off the extra tarpaulin. This tutorial is extremely basic, but it can serve as inspiration for making other rugs. Try different colors, textures, and even densities of rope.
