Blackstrap Molasses
Blackstrap Molasses is rich in copper which helps with the production of hair pigment. It also contains iron, selenium, and magnesium. Eat a teaspoon of blackstrap molasses every morning for a few months to prevent premature greying.
Onion and Lemon Juice
This remedy has several benefits for your hair. Onion contains antioxidants and hydrogen peroxide to correct any scalp deficiencies that would cause premature greying. It also works to restore your hair’s natural color. Adding the lemon juice works to remove oil from your scalp and boost shine.
You can mix together 3 teaspoons of onion juice along with 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. Pour this over your scalp and your hair. Let it sit for about 30 minutes before you shampoo with a sulfur-free shampoo. Do this every time you shampoo.
Amaranth
Amaranth helps you to retain your hair’s natural color, stop greying, and prevent hair loss. Apply some fresh amaranth juice extracted from amaranth leaves and place it on your hair and scalp after you shampoo. Let sit for 15 minutes before you rinse your hair.
Coconut Oil and Curry Leaves
Curry leaves contain Vitamin B that helps to restore the pigments in your hair. It also will help to repair damaged roots. Add one cup of coconut or olive oil and a handful of curry leaves. Heat this on the stove for 6 to 8 minutes and let cool. Once it is lukewarm massage it into your scalp and let it sit overnight before you rinse it off in the morning.
Tea
Black tea will help bring back the color of dark colored hair, while chamomile and rooibos are better for blondes and redheads.
Place 3 to 5 tea bags in two cups of boiling water. Let it seep until it is completely cool. Soak your hair in the solution and leave it on as long as you can. The longer you keep it in the darker a hue your hair will be. Rinse thoroughly with an herbal shampoo when you’re done.
Black Sesame Seeds
Black sesame seeds help to produce melanin and stop premature greying. It’s also chock full of vitamins and minerals that promote strong hair and a healthy scalp. Eat a teasp0on of these a day for three months to ward off going grey. You can also apply sesame oil to your hair.
Rosemary and Sage
Rosemary promotes a healthy scalp that ensures hair growth, prevents itching, dandruff and premature greying. The sage will enhance the effects rosemary has on preventing greys.
Add 1/2 cup of sage to 1/2 cup of dried rosemary and boil it in 2 cups of water for about 30 minutes on a low heat setting. Let it sit for about 2 hours before you place it all over your head. Leave the mixture on until it completely dries, then rinse with a mild herbal shampoo. You can repeat this twice a week.
Indian Gooseberry, Fenugreek, and Coconut Oil
Indian gooseberry is known for its anti-aging properties since it’s rich in Vitamin C which also helps with hair growth. Fenugreek is also loaded up with vitamins and minerals that are good for your scalp. Crush up 5 to 6 gooseberries until a powder and add one teaspoon of fenugreek powder to 1/2 cup of coconut oil. Mix everything together well and massage it into your scalp and hair Let it sit overnight before washing it off in the morning.
Almond Oil and Lemon Juice
These two ingredients combined have the power to nourish your scalp, make your hair bouncy, as well as frizz and dandruff free. And that’s on top of fighting off greys. Mix 2 teaspoons of almond oil with 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and massage into your scalp and hair. Let it sit for 30 minutes before you wash off with lukewarm water.
