The tiny home trend is growing, but not every tiny house is just a tiny home. In the case of one doctor, she has designed a small and mobile tiny home so she can reach people in remote locations and still give them the best medical care possible. Not only is this tiny house absolutely adorable, but it’s also entirely functional and relocatable so that it meets all of the doctor’s requirements.
That sounds like the perfect prescription.
Are you ready to take a look inside? Let’s get started.
Location, location, location
While the tiny house does have wheels and can take the doctor wherever patients need her to be, it also has a home base set up in an idyllic vineyard. The vineyard serves as a perfect and peaceful setting with lots of space. Not only is it good medicine for the body, but it’s good for the soul as well.
As for necessities, the parking space already had power and water hookups when she arrived, so her tiny office is fully functional. Lauren is thinking about getting solar panels in the future, but for right now, it is like the spot was just waiting for her tiny house to roll right up to its home location.
Small footprint
This small building is just 20 feet wide and 8 feet deep. That doesn’t mean it’s short on anything! As for the minuscule spot it takes up in the vineyard, it makes the structure look like it fits right in without dominating the landscape.
Exterior
The outside is done in Japanese cedar that gives it a look of luxury. The black roof, as well as window and door frames, really offer a nice contrast to make the warm tones of the cedar pop even more. The angle of the roof makes it appear more like a small home rather than something you would expect to see on wheels.
Interior
When you walk into the tiny house, there is actually a sense of space. It is clean and tiny and doesn’t feel cluttered. There is a nice sofa to relax on near a wood-burning stove and a table that folds down to take up a very small amount of space.
To the left of that is a functional kitchen with a small fridge, freezer, a sink, stove, plenty of cabinets, and a few shelves to keep all the necessities, including spices.
Continuing the space, a door opens to a closet, and stairs lead up to a bedroom area that is kept tucked out of the way.
Making it home
Despite being small, efficient, and tidy, this tiny house is still a home. When you first approach, it’s hard to ignore the potted plants that can be found adorning the outside area. The interior continues that trend of greenery, bringing a living element into the space.
Potted plants can be found on shelves, hanging from the wooden ceiling, and even perches on the side of the stairs that lead to the second level of the small building.
