Spanning 72,000 square meters, and home to over 100 million flowers, the Dubai Miracle Garden is the largest flower garden in the world. Since its opening on Valentines Day in 2013, the garden has seen increased popularity and hosts an average of 55,000 weekly visitors. Here, guests can walk alongside spectacular pyramids and sculptures coated in flowers, and marvel at vast displays of vibrant blossoms. While Dubai is well-known for its futuristic and modern landscapes, the Miracle Garden leaves visitors in awe at the miraculous sight of millions of flowers blooming on a seemingly endless desert. We’ll take you through a step-by-step tour of one of Dubai’s newest and most astounding developments.
Flowery replicas and sculptures
This flowery structure is a replica of the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest skyscraper located in Dubai. It serves not only as a replica, but also as a stunning vertical garden.
The garden also showcases replicas of architecture from different parts of the world.
Peacock sculptures seem to be a favorite at this garden. The natural intricate designs of their feathers allow the garden’s designers to substitute feathers with flowers, creating these magnificent sculptures.
No one rocks the “flowers in her hair” look quite like this sculpture does.
Floral clocks
What better way to keep track of the time than by looking at these beautiful, giant flower clocks? Granted, one loses all sense of time when exploring this floral wonderland.
Flower houses
These flower houses seem as if they popped right out of a fairy tale. From the walls to the roof, they are laced with colorful blossoms. Why have a backyard garden when an entire house can be a garden itself?
Sadly, these charming flower houses aren’t on the real estate market, but they make memorable photo ops nonetheless.
Picture perfect scenery
Grab a loved one and pose for a photo under these majestic flower hearts!
Or have your picture taken among a breathtaking sea of petals. These enormous flower beds are perhaps my favorite attraction from this botanical garden because of their remarkable patterns and designs.
These flower beds are so large you can hardly make out the people in the center!
Curious as to how large flower collections like these are watered? The garden utilizes a drip irrigation system using recycled waste water, in which hoses deliver water to each plants’ individual root zone one drop of water at a time. This system is beneficial in that it prevents evaporation, therefore saving even more water. Pretty efficient!
The Miracle Garden can also give us a few ideas on how to organize our own flower beds back home. I would definitely try to have this arrangement (much smaller, of course) in my yard!
This is one labyrinth I wouldn’t mind running through again and again.
The gem of the desert
This photo perfectly demonstrates the way the garden’s bold colors and greenery stand out against the surrounding desert. The garden lives up to it’s name—a garden of this sort in a hot desert is indeed a miracle.
Butterfly Garden
If you thought that was all, think again! The Miracle Garden also exhibits a world-class butterfly garden, which opened last year in 2015 and is the first of its kind in the Middle East.
The butterfly garden features nine domes in which visitors can stroll next to a wide variety of butterflies.
The brilliance of the designs and attractions at the Dubai Miracle Garden truly make it a one-of-a-kind establishment. If you happen to be in Dubai one day, be sure to visit this garden that can also be considered a living piece of art.
Due to high summer temperatures, the Dubai Miracle Garden closes from June to September, but reopens every year during October. For more information, please visit dubaimiraclegarden.com.
