As the holiday season approaches, the task of rushing out to purchase decorations before tackling household improvements may seem overwhelming. However, there’s no need to worry. You can repurpose various items already present in your home. Through some do-it-yourself creativity, you can turn everyday objects into festive decorations.
Hangers for hanging
Grab a few extra hangers from the laundry room and find a big table so you can hook them up together.
Invert to form a star of sorts
Take two clothes hangers and cross them at the center, forming an “X” shape, and repeat with the other hangers.
Secure and hang them up
Add the final hanger by connecting its ends to the remaining open tips of the star’s arms. This will complete the star shape. Now hang them up for all to see!

Christmas candles
Grab those holiday-themed napkins and slowly tear off the decorated part.
Roll that candle
Lay it out on a clean table and roll a candle on the napkin until the candle is wrapped.

Paper binds to wax when heated so use a blow dryer and gently dry until you get a lovely holiday candle.
Old gloves can be turned into cute stuffed bears
Grab that old glove and remove the finger with a hole.
Stuff that fluff
Fill each finger with the stuffing material, leaving a little space at the top. These will be the teddy bear’s arms and legs. Sew buttons or safety eyes onto the teddy bear’s face. Use embroidery floss or thread to create a nose and mouth.
Decorate and display
Trim any excess threads, fluff up the stuffing to achieve the desired shape, and make any additional adjustments. Now you have a cute stuffy!
Old bulbs can decorate trees
Those dying bulbs can be turned into cute tree decor so don’t throw them away.
Dress them up
You can dress and decorate them to look like ornaments so get creative.
Shining as bright as ever
Just hang them up on the tree for all to see. Now you’ve got new decor!
Stand up stockings
You can divide those empty soda bottles into 2 or 3 distinct pieces by cutting them. Simply use cardboard to measure and provide additional stability for the cut sections.
Dress them up
Wrap with holiday-themed napkins and decorate to your heart’s content.
Endless possibilities
These are super cute so make as many as you can and lay them around the house.
A hat for the bulb
Start wrapping the yarn around the paper roll, covering it completely. Continue wrapping until you achieve the desired thickness for the hat.
Trim and secure the yarn
Once you’re satisfied with the yarn wrapping, cut the yarn and secure the end by tucking it under the wrapped layers or using a small amount of glue or tape.
Now you have a hat for the bulb ornament
Plop it on to the bulb ornament’s head for added decoration and now you have an even cuter bulb.
Pinecone flowers
You can use pinecones to decorate display presents.
Split and glue
Just split one apart and add glue to the edges but keep it neat.
Stick them on
Then just stick them on the presents and wait until dry to display.
Coffee pods as bells
Paint those pods with festive colors. Mix and match all you want!
Loop through a hole
Punch holes in the ends and just loop a ribbon through. Add different colors!
Pretty presents
