Hiding a certain red elf isn’t easy, particularly if you’re doing it every single year. You have to motivate yourself to be extra creative to make the holiday tradition a lot more fun for everyone.
Unfortunately, exploring hiding spots isn’t always a great idea. You see, the more hiding spots you try, the more mishaps the red elf encounters.

1. Poor elf
This mom thought of surprising the kids by hanging their elf. Unfortunately, the thread wasn’t strong enough to keep him in place all night. The poor elf ended up drowning in a spaghetti pot. The family had to rescue him and put him on a dish drainer to get warm.
2. Almost a good idea
The family thought it would be nice to set up their elf as if he’s roasting some marshmallows. Well, it was almost a good idea until the elf nearly burned the space.
3. The cat’s poo
Everything was going well with this elf. In fact, the family managed to make that snow angel effect. However, for some reason, the cat thought that it was cat litter.
4. Bob’s accident
Bob was sitting on light fixtures when this happened. It was a good thing that the family was able to see what happened and save him right away.
5. Expectation vs reality
This mom was hoping she could get her kids to draw minions on the bananas. Unfortunately, she was only able to get this.
6. Message failed
Mom attempted to leave a “Be good” message on the mirror on behalf of the elf. Unfortunately, someone showered and her message ended up as a big mess.
7. Diarrhea
This mom’s bubble popped and the gum stuck on the elf’s backside. It made him look like he was having a bad case of diarrhea. Even the deer looked worried!
8. Not intentional
The elf was just planning on taking a chocolate chip dump but ended up falling in. Mom was clear that what happened wasn’t intentional.
9. Creepy
This elf was just spending a day fishing with the dolls. When Barbie’s dress got a bit out of place, he ended up looking really creepy. He looked like he was planning to do something awful.
10. When the dog was being too quiet
Dogs rarely get too quiet. Once you notice them behaving that way, there’s a good chance that they’re doing something they’re not supposed to do. In this case, the dog murdered the elf when mom was busy with her laundry.
11. Not a fan of light fixtures
Not all elves like to be near light fixtures. I guess the reason’s quite obvious.
12. Mom’s fault
Thom was busy eating pickles in the cupboard when mom shut the door. He ended up getting knocked down and the kids saw everything. From the kids’ point of view, it was horrifying.
13. The elves and the gingerbread house
If you’re going to give your elves a gingerbread house, make sure that it’s durable enough. Otherwise, you might find yourself dealing with this kind of disaster in front of your kids.
14. When elves get tired
Traveling all the way from the North Pole is super tiring. No wonder the elf fell asleep on the floor with his face down!
15. The elf’s new job
This elf was promoted and given a different job. Looking at his face, it’s safe to say that he’s happy in his new workplace.
16. Being honest
Well, at least the elf was being truthful here. He can always poop and deny it but he has brave enough to admit everything. He even placed a sign for it!
17. Mom’s idea
For the mom, the idea was great and super funny. For the kids, it’s a nightmare. It looks like they’d be hating the elf for quite some time.

Dad placed the poor elf near the light bulb and it ended up getting that black spot on his cheek. He couldn’t find any other explanation for what happened. So, he just explained to the kids that the elf got frostbite from traveling all the way from the North Pole.

The elf got into an accident. Instead of buying a new one, he did this. It looks convincing, right?
20. The elf’s power
2 years ago, this woman touched an elf and told her friend’s kid that he loses special powers that way. The kid still remembers everything up to this day.
