We always want to improve what our house looks like or we simply need to make repairs so parts of our house work better. And we don’t always have a budget for it.
So what do we do? We try to DIY it to save money.
But DIY-ing is not always the best idea. These photos prove DIY home improvement is not always the best idea.
1. Every part has a purpose
Each part of the house has a purpose. So when you’re removing a wall, make sure you’re not removing a load-bearing wall. It’s not going to be pretty unless you want a literal open floor plan.
This is what happens when you grab the wrong bottle. He sprayed weed killer instead of weed and feed. We wonder if the dead grass grew back in the spring season.
It was a nice kitty door sign, for sure. Too bad it was at the wrong end. Maybe they can turn the door upside down, and replace the hinges. Or the cat can just climb the door so it can get in on top. Yeah, maybe the first option is better.
But they’re in Indiana, where palm trees are uncommon. But they really wanted palm trees so they’ll make do with this. It could be a fail but it’s a creative fail.
The microwave doesn’t work anymore. And it’s such a shame to throw it away. So why not repurpose it as a mailbox? Hope someone doesn’t mistake it as a real microwave and heat food in here! (They’ll be disappointed anyway.)
A loud noise woke them up at 4 in the morning. When they rushed to the kitchen, this is what they saw. This is going to take all morning to clean and fix.
They wanted it to be more than just home decor. It can be a candle holder and it can collect the candle wax. Maybe make your own candles using the collected wax?
They repurposed this church pew to become a bed headboard. And they didn’t even make sure the cut pieces were aligned properly and won’t hit you on the head. Must have been hard to find the right buckets to make that possible.
The government had ordered a lockdown and shut down of all non-essential companies, including construction companies. They were in the middle of renovating his bathroom. The only bathroom in his home.
He wanted to do a good thing and help clean up. So he moved the paint cans to the basement. But he couldn’t carry all of them and this happened. This happened in their new house.
