If you’re into DIY, then you know how much fun you can have and how much money you can save by making awesome creations at home rather than buying them from a store.
Oftentimes, you already have all of the items needed right at home.
Garden lighting at its finest

A great resource for discovering new DIY tricks and tips is the YouTube channel called Hometalk.
They have countless videos that are all filled with amazing DIY ideas to get your creative juices flowing and your home looking awesome!
In the video posted down below, you can watch as one woman creates amazing light ornaments for garden decoration or outdoor lighting.
You can even follow along and make it yourself!
You’ll need a glass globe
You can often find these at the dollar store. Any size will do, it just depends on your preference.

Once you have your jar, you’re going to need to clean the surface really well.
Start by wiping it clean.
However, to make sure you really get everything off of the jar’s surface, you’re going to want to wipe it down with some isopropyl alcohol.
Go ahead and saturate a cotton swap with some alcohol and rub down the entire surface of the jar.

Once this is done, then you can start getting creative. Take a crayon, any color you’d like, and draw lines vertically down the surface of the jar.
These lines don’t have to be perfect.
In fact, it looks even better if they aren’t!
When you’ve finished your vertical lines, draw some lines horizontally as well. Then, draw some diagonal lines across your entire grid.
When finished, it should look something like this:

Time to add some glitter glue.
Squeeze a generous amount out onto a plate and be sure to get your brush nice and thick with the stuff.
Paint it onto the jar and over the lines in a crosshatch pattern. When complete, it should take on a cracked glass look.

Seal it up
Be sure to spray it with some sort of sealant as well to keep it weatherproof.

Now for the lights!
You’re going to need a bundle of fairy lights.
These cool little lights come on a copper wire and are powered by a battery pack or a plug.

You can mold and shape them however you’d like. For the purposes of this project, you can just stuff them into the jar.
It should look like this:

You are finished!
You can make many of these and spread them out all over your garden to give it a beautiful touch when it starts to get dark.
If you don’t have a garden, you can even put them in a potted plant on your front porch!

The outdoor lighting applications for these awesome little globes are endless.
