Content creator Mia Maples surprised her grandmother with a bedroom makeover.
Mia’s online presence has been there for years. Her most recent videos are about home renovations, interior design makeovers, clothes, and all the fun stuff she often does with her mother.
Since she’s been doing makeovers for others, it’s just right she does so for her family, too.
Mia once surprised her grandparents with a home renovation of their old house. The result was too stunning; she made it look new again. The reaction on their faces made all the effort worth it.
This time, Mia wanted to surprise her other grandmother, who lives alone.
Unlike her usual home renovations, she and her team were pressed for time on this one because it was difficult to find a way for her grandmother to be out for a longer period. This must be done quickly and stealthily, too.
Mia and her team have at most eight hours to complete the makeover!
Yes, eight hours! Not so long, right? So, they moved fast, removed her grandma’s old furniture, and brought in new ones.
They had a bit of a limitation with this makeover, especially since her grandmother was living in an apartment, so there were things that they couldn’t change.
Mia was going for a “pink explosion” theme since that’s her grandmother’s favorite color.
However, they could change the room’s paint, light fixtures, and cabinetry. So they had to make do with changing a few pieces of furniture that looked outdated and other bedroom accessories to accentuate the entire look.
Her grandmother arrived to the biggest surprise of her life.
She loved everything that her granddaughter did in her bedroom. The changes Mia made were subtle yet enhanced the bedroom’s look.
You might have expected a horrible hot pink room which could be too much, but she took the lighter shade of pink – leaning more towards pastel and nude.
Mia decided to keep the big dresser that was originally there.
She loved the look of it, anyway, and its slanted feet made it look classy. What she did was add a few accessories here and there, but not to the point of cluttering.
She also added a corner chair where her grandma’s “prep table” used to be.
The corner chair looked modern and stylish with the perfect shade of pink. Mia also added a standing lamp that matched the ones already installed in the bedroom.
Her mother also did a little DIY on her grandma’s mirror.
One of the significant changes she made was adding a makeup desk.
Her grandma can bid goodbye to her old, makeshift prep table and say hello to this new makeup table and the perfect mirror to go with it.
The drawers were filled with makeup and accessories that Mia picked out for her grandmother.
But the one thing that changed the look of the room was the bed.
Mia “updated” her grandmother’s bed so it won’t look too… uhmmm… “grandma” anymore.
She changed it to a better one with a headboard to add color and texture to the wall. The blankets and layers of pillows gave it a more comfortable look, too.
