Baby powder will help keep rabbits out of your garden. Rabbits do not like the smell or taste of baby powder, so sprinkle the powder around your garden. Just make sure to retreat the area, as the powder is likely to blow away if it’s windy or rainy.

Prevent Ants

Ants are one of the most annoying pests. They can plague your home and garden. But you can sprinkle baby powder around the foundation of your house, in doorways, and in your garden to deter ants. They don’t like baby powder and will avoid it.

Discourage Beetles

Just like ants and rabbits, beetles don’t like baby powder. You can use a little bit of powder on plant leaves to repel Japanese beetles and other beetle types, who don’t like the taste of the powder. Just remember to reapply the powder if it rains or there’s a heavy wind.

Avoid Aphids

One of the biggest garden pests are aphids, otherwise called whiteflies, blackflies, greenflies, or plant lice. Just sprinkle some baby powder wherever there are aphids in your garden. This will help keep these unpleasant pests away from your precious garden.

Other Animals

Just as baby powder works at deterring the above pests from invading your garden, it can work the same on just about any basic pest. Most pests just don’t like how it feels on their paws, so they stay away.

Prevent Root Rot

Just as in the garden, baby powder can also help with certain things inside your house. One of those things is preventing root rot in your indoor bulbs. Just spread a tiny bit of baby powder dust on the bulbs. Do so by putting the bulbs into a Ziplock bag. Then add in a few tablespoons of baby powder. Seal the bag, and then shake it up. Then, when you plant the bulbs, mice won’t eat the roots and the roots won’t rot.

Reduce Tool Friction

Certain tools create friction on your hands when you use them. To help minimize friction when you handle your tools so your hands don’t slip from being too sweaty or get blistered from being too dry, apply baby powder to your tools. This hack can help on tools like shovels, shears, and spades.
