If you know anything about me, you’ll know that I’m always looking for fun DIY projects to improve the look of my house. Well, recently I’ve been looking for ways to spice up my plain old and white blinds. Of course, I didn’t want to just throw them away and buy new ones, so I scoured the Internet for the best DIY project out there, and I’m happy to say I might have found it…

In this project, you’ll be making your own Roman shades. If you don’t know, Roman shades are just like regular shades in that they’re used to blocked out the sun. The only difference? These blinds stack up evenly when opened, which causes the blinds to be pretty and smooth.

  • White faux wood blinds
  • Thick upholstery fabric
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Decoupage and bowl
  • Foam brush
  • Clothespins
