The pandemic has forced everyone to stay indoors to ensure safety from the deadly virus.
That meant having to give up on a lot of things, both big deals and small, to make sure that we are protected and healthy for our and our family’s sake.
As the months passed by, we have learned to accept this as part of the new normal way of living. However, that does not mean we cannot enjoy some of those tiny pleasures from before the pandemic.
Drinking coffee, for example. Do you miss the days when you can go out and visit your favorite coffee shop and drinking your favorite coffee? It’s also a great way to catch up with friends and family, which makes it even more fun.
Staying home and the fear of contracting the virus led people to lessen, if not totally stop, their visits to the coffee shops.
But one Dad wanted to make his family enjoy having coffee from a coffee shop again, so he built one mini-coffee shop in their home’s backyard. He built it “from the ground up” and it looks absolutely awesome!
Ed Astrid works as a general contractor and with so much time in his hands due to the lockdown, he thought of a way to make his family happy amidst this trying time. His incredible idea: building their very own mini-coffee shop.
Julianna shared her father’s gorgeous creation on Twitter and people online were stunned by the beautiful results!

“He has always had a love for coffee and cozy spots and recently decided to fuel that love into something for his own backyard where the family and our guests can sit back, lounge and bond,” Julianna explained in her post.
Julianna is not surprised at all that her dad can build something so fancy and gorgeous. She grew up with him doing all sorts of incredible projects around their home. Ed is definitely one talented builder.
When Ed told his family he plans on building their own coffee shop, they all laughed at his idea.
“My dad loves looking at little houses and different structures on Pinterest and randomly one day he told us ‘yea I think I’m gonna build a coffee shop in the backyard,’ all of us started cracking up because it was so random and honestly, just a funny thought,” Julianna shared.
Ed was not discouraged by his family’s reaction and pushed through with his project. For the next three months, the man focused on building the shop he had in mind. He turned his vision into a reality and his family is quite amazed at his awesome work.
The coffee shop may not be very big, but it functions just like any other coffee shop.
It has a coffee maker, magazines, television, and even a chess table. There is also a pastry case, a mini-fridge, and of course, a menu board.
The lockdown may have resulted in a lot of negative things but it is still possible to turn these vibes into positivity, just like what ed did. With the right idea and purpose, even this lockdown can make way for the greatest things to happen.
