Change is inevitable, but sometimes, the hardest changes could be a way for us to realize what we want to achieve in life.

Lance was born in Victoria, British Columbia, but he worked in Alberta.

Even though he earned good money, he felt that something was missing in his life.

Lance knew something greater was calling him, and unexpectedly, his mother became sick.

He intended to take care of her and planned to go back to Alberta, but he did not expect it to happen so soon.

One day, someone called him and said that his best friend had died.

Lance went home, and after dealing with the loss of his friend, he knew he had to prepare himself for another significant event.

He took care of his mother and spent time with her.

While doing so, he researched tiny homes and came across Bryce’s channel.

When Lance’s mother passed away, he realized that he no longer wanted to go back to his usual job.

He decided to live a whole new life by making money doing what he loved, so that was the start of his tiny home.

Lance found the perfect location where he placed his tiny home on his grandfather’s property.

It was in the middle of a forest with a beautiful lake nearby.

As he built his tiny home, he also found new ways to earn money.

Today, Lance works as an athlete development and career coach, particularly for hockey players. He also sells art prints from local artists.

He also makes and sells LED flow art hula hoops.

His tiny home is a 20-footer container, but he extended it so he could have a space for his bedroom.

The bump-out container was created by opening two end doors and then adding a roof and a wall for the window.

He also added a platform for the bed, which he could easily dismantle if needed.

As you enter Lance’s tiny home, you’d see his beautiful kitchen.

The entire house was delightful and well-designed with white paint and wooden accents.

One thing to notice is Lance’s kitchen shelf, which was made of a piece of oak with the bark still on.

It had this modern feel, but you will still notice the nature vibes.

Lance explained that he loves to cook and eat and he didn’t want to compromise that, so he has a full-size fridge, a big sink, and a gas range.

Bryce also noticed all the amazing art pieces from local artists in town, which also became Lance’s friends.

Lance incorporated several natural elements like potted plants, crystals, and a terrarium that he and his partner created.

On the left side of his house was a full-size shower, but Bryce noticed that he didn’t have a toilet.

According to Lance, they planned for either a composting or flushable toilet but ended up with an outhouse.

Bryce asked about the house’s insulation.

Lance said that he added 3 inches of spray foam and 3 inches of styrofoam in his room.

For the wall, he added 2 inches of styrofoam and 2 inches of spray foam.

As for the home’s overall heating, they have a small oil radiator for the winter.

Lance’s bedroom is located on the right side of the container home.

The tasteful design of a big arbutus branch with a climbing ivy will make you appreciate the connection between the room and the outside forest.

Lance also has some local logs that he found on the beaches of Victoria and underneath his bed are three pull-out drawers that are about five feet long each.

The platform of the bed also has holes and there is a space inside where the heater goes in. This heats the bed when it’s too cold.

Lastly, he showed Bryce his big tv that swings, enabling him to watch comfortably.
