Tim remodels his attic
Tim of HomeMadeNew knows all about the benefits of a good home renovation project.
He grew up in a Seattle home that was constantly being renovated.
When it came time for him to move his family to North Carolina, Tim took what he learned about home renovation in his childhood with him.
Tim posted a video to his YouTube channel of him renovating some attic space in his new home.
What once could only serve as storage space now can be a library, home office, or reading nook.
The 100-year-old farmhouse
Tim lives with his wife Ellie and their dog, Apollo on a 100-year-old farmhouse and he is putting his home renovation skills to good use.
He previously was employed in social work, then as a photographer and videographer, but now he spends his time sharing with others how he has renovated his home.
Tim wrote the following on the Home Made New About Us page:
Hey, my name is Tim! Ive lived in western North Carolina for over 20 years after moving from Seattle, WA with my family. I grew up in a home that was constantly being renovated. Ive never really did any work of my own mainly because I was a kid/teenager, but Ive always watched and helped in small ways. Little did I know that one day Id be renovating my own home.”
Tim posts a video of his progress
Tim included the below description of the project:
“2020 was a year that I finally tackled some of the big projects in our home. The attic loft was one of them. When we moved in, we had no idea there was a huge space above our master bedroom and bathroom, it wasn’t until I knocked a hole in the wall and found a huge space that had potential. Now, it serves as my office and storage, as well as a little nook and library. Thanks to my dad who helped me mud some and my good friend Kent for hanging some drywall!” He wrote.
The entire video is five minutes long and shows Tim’s attic going from mere storage space to a comfy place you can spend some quality time.
He didn’t even know the attic was there
Tim didn’t even realize the attic existed when they moved in. Evidently, no real estate agent felt it was important enough to mention.
For someone like Tim, however, even a seemingly pointless room can be turned into a beautiful space.

Since Tim posted the video, it has gone viral and been viewed over 1 million times on YouTube.
The comments section is filled with praise for Tim and his gorgeously renovated attic.
