They are not just being used to make the walls more beautiful but they also protect them from objects that might damage the walls like vacuums and mops.

Baseboards are created to prevent the drywall from getting wet when you accidentally spilled water on the floor. There many more things that baseboards do for the drywall.

As it gives protection to the wall, it’s also the reason why baseboards are prone to be damaged.

If you have pets like dogs that love to munch on wood, then you know what to expect. And it’s frustrating when your baseboards are not in good condition.

Aside from it doesn’t look good, replacing them can be pretty expensive, too. According to HomeAdvisor, the average cost when you install baseboards ranges from $720 – $1,300. While when you replace them, it can cost $70 to $360.

Getting a replacement is not always needed.

  • Sandpaper (120 or 150 grit will do)
  • Wood glue

Yes, those are only the three things that you’ll need! And of course, just add up some patience.

Steps to follow:

If there are “fuzzy bits” on the wood, you can use a knife to eliminate them. Once you’re satisfied with it, wipe it with a slightly wet cloth.

2. Put some glue on the wood before filling it with wood filler.
