Cleaning your oven can be nasty business. Some may think that harsh chemicals are the only way you can get the job done, but that’s not the case.

You can absolutely use natural ingredients to get rid of all that caked on food that’s stuck inside your oven.

After checking out the methods below, you’ll never use chemicals to clean your oven again.

Castile Soap, Baking Soda, Salt

Use 1/4 cup of castile soap, 1 cup of baking soda, and a 1/2 cup of sea salt with some warm water to create a paste. Coat the inside of your oven inside of your oven with a thick layer the paste and let it sit for as long as you can allow it to.

Use a wet sponge to wipe away the paste. You can spray some vinegar on the inside of it to remove and remaining residue.

Lemon and Baking Soda

Mix a handful of baking soda and the juice of six lemons (bottle lemon juice is fine). Create a paste and spread it in your oven. Let it sit for an hour then wipe away. You can use a half of a lemon dipped in baking soda to scrub the glass and racks inside.

Baking Soda and Vinegar

Remove your oven racks and create a thick paste from a 1/2 cup of baking soda with a few drops of water. Use this to coat your oven and let it sit overnight. Wipe as much of it off as you can with a sponge then spray it with vinegar. Let the bubbles do their magic and when the foam settles you can wipe it away with a damp cloth.

Bake It Away

Make a cleaning solution with a few tablespoons of vinegar, baking soda, and water. Let the mixture bubble up then apply it to your dirty often. Place the leftover mixture in an oven safe bowl on the top rack and bake at 100 degrees for an hour. Then wipe it away with a sponge.

Dryer Sheets

Place a layer of dryer sheets in a large tub. Then put your oven racks on top of the sheets and add enough hot water so that the racks are covered. Then add a 1/2 cup of dish soap. Let your racks soak overnight before you scrub them clean with dryer sheets. You can watch the video tutorial here.

Baking Soda, Vinegar, Dish Soap

Adding dish soap to your baking soda/vinegar combo helps you to cut the grease inside the oven. Create a solution from these three ingredients. You can make it as thick or thin as you’d like. Sponge it on, let it sit, then scrub it away.
