30 years ago (it was the early 90’s, so yes we’re all that old) life was not as complicated and hectic. It wouldn’t be fair to say it was easier but the early 90s made for some fun times.
Some of the things you’ll see here may baffle the kids, but take a hit of nostalgia with all the stuff homes back in 1993 used to have.
A huge TV that weighed 300 pounds
It was all the rage then, and the bigger the better, since people would house their sets in the furniture.
Pull out those drawers and you’d find TV guides, tapes, and who knows what else.
A room in the house with walls like this
Wood was all the rage then, and they would go with bricks or concrete to finish up a house.
It was a thriving industry, unfortunately, at the cost of many trees.
This wooden bowl that was often used for a crisp, cool iceberg salad
Well, usually it was for a salad, but some would put chips on these before sitting in front of the TV.
Maybe it was just dads everywhere?
This type of furniture that smelled a bit like cigarette smoke
Either cigarette smoke, or cigars your grandparents would puff on as they shared stories of their days gone by.
Chances were they sat kids on their laps too, regardless of all the second hand smoke.
A phone you’d have to come barreling down the stairs to answer in time
Yup, no handheld super smart phones that could give you whatever you wanted with a tap.
When these rang, anyone from the house would have to come running in their pajamas or underwear.
A jar of candy stuck together with no one knowing how old it was
And you would find these on the table so anyone could reach and grab for a piece.
What’s surprising is that you wouldn’t find ants anywhere near it.
A kitchen with this kind of floor
Kitchens back then were usually bright, with loud pops of colors everywhere, including those big cereal boxes.
And the floors were designed in such a way to wake you up even before that first sip of coffee.
This blender that seemed to last decades
It was the Toyota of blenders, with nearly every household having one for the reason that it never broke.
And decades later, the kids and grandkids are still using the same blender.
A literal book you’d have to bring to the bank with you
Before there were online banking apps and e-mails, people would carry these with them when they needed to do business in a bank.
Banks then were huge, with couches, and tress, and lots of people walking around carrying paperwork.
The greatest toy ever…The Moo Box
Let’s see how many of you remember these. Or better yet, ask your kids what they think this is.
It was such a simple toy but this brought so many laughs to so many people.
This exact crockpot
Maybe there was an unspoken rule among moms then that to be considered cool, they had to have one of these.
Dads could care less so long as they had good food after work.

It was anyone’s guess what the exact color was too, seeing as there would be multiple shoes and slippers walking on these.
There must have been a multiverse in between those fibers and weaves.

These alarm clocks were so popular that you’d even see them in films and TV shows.
The very same ones people would throw when they refused to get up.
A big ol’ ball of needles
And then you hear the adults warning the kids not to touch this even though it’s on full display.
How could kids not want to touch a prickly looking strawberry anyway?

Every grandma had these set over her couch and it just felt like the warmest hug when you felt it.
Then grandma calls you to eat and it’s just the best day ever.

It was the dresser that had moms sitting in front of it for hours while dad waited impatiently downstairs.
Only for her to come down and ask if her earrings went with her dress.
One of these chairs that always gets stickier the hotter it got outside
They came in all sorts of colors too, so moms and dads would stretch out and soak in the sun all while getting their backs burnt.
Amazing how these could last under the scorching heat.

Or something like this, since they also came in different shades, but it was a time when families actually sat down and ate together.

Then you’d have to scoop it out since the powder probably got stuck in the bottom.

This was a lovely gift for the girls at home, and it felt especially magical when dad handed over the key.
It was anyone’s guess what it contained too.
This dish that was perfect for any food
You knew it was special once these were taken out and cleaned for dinner.
And they were pretty heavy even without holding anything inside.
A big binder filled to the brim with CDs
In every room, in the car, and even in the kitchen, teenagers and even dad would argue over which CD to play.
The assortment of colors served as a nice distraction from all the scratches too.
The ultimate piece of toy technology
Every little kid had to have one of these, and they would ask mom and dad over and over again until they said yes.
Only to leave them lying around the house as soon as their favorite cartoons come on.
And the other ultimate toy
These were more than enough to distract and occupy a child back then.
That buys mom a good hour to finish her chores and prepare the evening meals.
Two sets of keys for one single car
One starts the engine and the other was for the trunk, so if you lost either of these, you were screwed.
That’s where duplicates come in handy.

Siblings would actually fight over these so mom and dad had to buy another one just to end the bickering.
These were pretty cool and even adults had a blast with them.

The stove top percolator made some of the best coffee around to be honest.
It was responsible for that wonderful aroma the moment you woke up in the morning.

If you wanted to hear someone curse like a pirate and scream like a banshee, then scatter these on the floor and wait.
