Parents Build A Space For Their Children To Play In

A loving couple were desperate to find a solution to their problem. They had purchased a two-bedroom townhouse a few years ago, and while it fit their needs at first, their family was expanding and growing. Their children were growing older, and the house was starting to feel a bit small.

Rather than look for a new house, the couple decided to think outside the box. They tried to think of a unique way to create space in the home. That’s when they realized that there was a unutilized space in their home: the foyer near their staircase.

Often times, we hang things to create space underneath, and the couple took this concept to a whole new level. With the help of their father-in-law, they planned to create a loft that would suit their children’s growing needs. In addition, the space would be big enough for a small home/office workspace.

To start on this project, the couple needed to layout the foundation. While they could imagine the end result in their head, it was difficult to actually put the plan into motion.

Then, they got to work. First, they needed to build the base that would hold the weight of the furniture in the room as well as any toys, electronics, and other heavy objects.

After the base was installed, they started laying out the flooring. Here, the vision for the project is finally coming to life.

Obviously, they needed to install railings to ensure no one fell off. Once completed, they started moving in the furniture. They put a cabinet as well as a desk to create a workspace. Then, they surrounded the space with toys, storage, and a nice rug.

This is what the end result looks like. Pretty awesome, right?
