Ready to make your yard extra spooky?

Head over to your local dollar store and grab a bunch of pool noodles, so that you can craft this amazing Halloween walkway decoration.

These colorful, summer staples are about to become the core of your Halloween masterpiece, which is a fun and festive arch!

With a razor knife in hand, you’ll start by slicing wedges out of the noodles at a diagonal.

It’s important to keep those cut-out wedges—you’ll be using them later to add more eerie details.

Now, the real fun begins.

After cutting your pool noodles, it’s time to start shaping them into spooky branches.

Twist and turn the noodles until they start looking like something out of a haunted forest.

Wrap the ends in saran wrap and use a heat gun to shrink it around the noodles.

Don’t worry if it’s not perfect—imperfections just add to the creepy, thorny look you’re going for!

Next, using your trusty heat gun, slowly shrink the saran wrap until it hugs the pool noodles like a second skin.

This step gives the noodles a rugged, gnarled texture, making them look like real, twisted branches.

It’s amazing what a little plastic wrap and heat can do—suddenly, these pool noodles are transforming before your eyes!

After spray painting your noodles black, you need to give the arch some structure.

Grab a couple of PVC pipes—one 1¼ inches thick—and drive them into the ground at both sides of your walkway.

This is going to be the base for your archway.

Slide a 1-inch PVC pipe inside each of the larger pipes to make the frame extra sturdy.

Now, you’re building something truly wicked!

With your arch frame ready, it’s time to attach your “branches.”

Using zip ties, begin securing the pool noodles to the PVC frame.

Don’t worry too much about covering every inch of the frame right away. As you keep adding noodles, your arch will start to look fuller and more ominous.

Remember, it’s all about creating a spooky, natural flow—like you’ve captured the twisted branches of a haunted tree.

It’s time to break out the paint again!

Paint any exposed PVC pipes black.

Don’t stress about perfection—this is Halloween, after all! The rougher, the better.

Then, go in with some brown and gray highlights to add depth and texture.

By the end of this step, your arch will look like it was plucked straight out of a ghostly forest.

No spooky arch is complete without a few extra scares.

Grab a foam skull and a plastic lizard skeleton from your Halloween stash.

Give that skull a little makeover with some black paint and a well-placed zip tie to secure it to the arch.

With a final touch of creepy decor, your arch is nearly ready to give trick-or-treaters a proper fright!

The spooky archway is complete.

Stand back and admire your eerie creation.

The combination of pool noodles, PVC pipes, and Halloween trimmings has come together to create an arch that looks both realistic and terrifying.

The best part? It’s totally DIY!

Your arch will be the talk of the neighborhood, and every trick-or-treater will be greeted by a spine-chilling entrance to your haunted house.
