Realtor shares photo of purple kitchen and the online community is divided
The kitchen may be hideous but the comments make it more than worth looking at. 😂

Purple is a lovely color but would you choose it for your kitchen?

Home decor is very personal.

What is beautiful to some may be an absolute nightmare to others.

Home is the place where we can let our personal style and creativity shine, however, be prepared for your friends and family to give you their honest opinion.

This is especially true when choosing a bold color like purple.

When Realtor, Tim Sewell, posted a pic of a purple kitchen on his Facebook page, he was blown away by the responses.

One simple post captioned with “Thoughts?”

This led to a debate online about a very interesting color choice.

Although the majority of comments were a mix of disgust and confusion, there were those who were able to move past shock to acceptance.

Whatever makes you happy right? This acceptance is easy for some but to others, a Barney-colored kitchen is a hard pass.

Does this purple kitchen make you happy or horrified? Whether it reminds you of a Teletubby or everyone’s favorite dinosaur, this is a kitchen only a few could fully appreciate.

That being said, some do.

People couldn’t stop commenting on the bizarre kitchen color. The comments came flooding in for and against the unusual color choice. Who knew that a purple kitchen could bring so many people together?

Obviously, the power of purple should never be underestimated. Commenters online were quick to give their honest opinions.

One said, “Would get really old on day 2.”

The comments just got funnier.

“My granddaughter would love it.”

One of the commenters said it wasn’t for her but that her granddaughter would be thrilled with a purple kitchen.

Purple may seem like a childish color but it sure is cheery. Choosing to add purple to any room in a home takes a lot of courage.

It is not for the faint of heart and according to most people online, it might not be the best choice for your next kitchen remodel.

Purple sure has a way of getting the attention of others.

Sewell updated his post

He added to the caption, “This blew up fast! Thanks for the love and shares. Follow my page and I’ll post more fun housing stuff.” – Facebook @ Jim Sewell.

He may have been shocked at his post going viral but I think we were all way more shocked at the picture he posted.

Purple isn’t for the meek or mild.

According to bournecreative.com, “The color purple is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also represents meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.”

“It has a very interesting effect on the mind and body and is said to create feelings of spirituality, sensitivity, imagination, and creativity.”

How about a purple exterior?

Even though the purple kitchen has sent shockwaves over the internet, it’s not unheard of for people to paint their homes using a pastel color palette.

Purple is a bold color that truly makes a statement…good or bad.
