There is something about a charming beach cottage that is absolutely irresistible, don’t you think? The shingled siding, nautical decor, and windows that open up to let in the sound of crashing waves, what’s not to love?
This tiny cottage is endearingly named ‘Saltwater Candy,’ and from the moment you step inside, you’ll be swept right off your feet.
At just 526-square-feet, this adorable seaside getaway is located in the charming coastal town of Seabrook, Washington. The outside of the home features the classic wood-shingled siding, a small wooden gate for backyard access, and a welcoming front porch that greets you as you walk up to the home.
The small home’s lofted living area makes the space feel much larger than it really is.
On the main floor of the home, you’ll find the great room which serves as the living room, dining, room, and kitchen area. Also located on this floor is one of the home’s two bedrooms, as well as the bathroom. An additional sleeping area is located in the sleeping loft.
Since the cottage is walking distance to the beach, shops, and other activities, it’s nice to come home and unwind in front of the gas fireplace.
The walls of Saltwater Candy were painted a stark white to help give the illusion of space in the tiny cottage; however, they’ve made sure to add pops of color and bold patterns with the furnishings and decor. Heaps of natural light flows in from the pair of skylights located overhead.
Next to the seating area, and near the loft ladder, is the cottage’s small dining nook.
From this angle, you can also get a glimpse of the kitchen, hallway, and sleeping loft up above. The loft is kept open to the rest of the home with a guardrail reminiscent of a white picket fence.
The blue kitchen is one of the most eye-catching features of the home.
Just because the kitchen is in a tiny home, doesn’t mean it had to sacrifice luxury or amenities. The small kitchen boasts stone countertops, a full-size oven and range, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator.
Head down the hallway to reach Saltwater Candy’s master bedroom.
Unlike the hardwoods throughout the main part of the home, the bedroom features plush carpeting. The room has plenty of space for a queen-sized bed, along with a few other pieces of furniture. There is also a closet for storage located in front of the bed, out of camera’s view.
The bathroom is modest but has everything you need.
Luxuries were saved for other parts of the home, while the bathroom’s amenities were kept simple and to a minimum. There is a sizable walk-in shower, toilet, and sink with vanity.
Climb up the loft ladder to reach the beach cottage’s second ‘bedroom’ with two twin beds.
The sleeping loft’s vaulted ceilings provide a height tall enough to fully stand upright, a feature not typically found in tiny home’s lofts. Also upstairs is a small balcony where guests can grab a cup of coffee and enjoy views of the small coastal town.
