Living in a tiny home is not for everyone, but it’s perfect for this senior who customized her tiny home to fit her needs.

YouTube channel “Tiny House Giant Journey” featured a house tour of Corinne Corley’s tiny home, which she named “Angel’s Haven.”

Several features make this tiny home special, but one feature that stands out is her custom-built staircase inside the house.

Her stairs have a shorter rise and longer run, which allow her to have a more natural walk going up and down the stairs in her tiny home that leads to her bedroom.

Angel’s Haven is located in an RV park and tiny home community Park Delta Bay in Isleton, California.

She’s lived in her tiny home since December 2017.

Before moving here, she lived in a traditional 100-year-old bungalow in Kansas City, Missouri.

Corley moved because she felt compelled to downsize and do something radical.

There’s nothing more radical than closing your law practice, selling your home, and building a tiny house 2500 miles away,” she shared with a smile.

While she was still in Missouri, she saw a tiny house on the side of the road and went inside. She discovered it was a bakery in the middle of rural Missouri.

She spoke to the owner, who shared that her husband built the tiny home. Corley hired him to make her tiny home.

The house was built in Missouri and it cost $5,000 to rent a trailer to transport it to California.

The total cost of her tiny home was $37,500.

Her tiny home is 24 feet long, 13.5 feet wide, and 8.5 feet high. The total area of her home is 270 square feet, including the lofts inside. Corley explained that her house is laid out differently from other tiny homes because she custom-designed it.

For example, her kitchen counter is six feet long.

She also has a spot for a beautiful wooden secretary from her mother-in-law, which was a non-negotiable for Corley.

Many of the things inside her tiny home are items she brought from her traditional house.

Her bathroom is tiled with the same tiles she used in her traditional house and is 42 inches deep, slightly bigger than other tiny homes.

The backsplash of her bathroom sink is composed of tiles from different areas of her childhood home.

Her bedroom has a bookcase her great-grandfather built for her older sisters. The pictures on the mantle are also from her previous traditional home.

Her son’s first musical instrument also has a special spot in her bedroom.

The tiny home’s living room is under one of the lofts.

While people have to duck their heads to sit inside, once they’re seated there’s more than enough space for their heads.

Another special feature of Corley’s tiny home is a unique mural painted on one side of her exterior walls.

Artist Alex Lash painted it, and the mural is a tribute to Corley’s brother, who passed away in 1997.

Corley has an affinity for angels. The mural depicts an angel sitting by a river under a willow tree.

She also loves the meadow and open space behind her home.

Corley shared that people often have picnics, parties, and walk through this beautiful space.

“The real beauty of the back of my house is this gorgeous meadow,” she said.

Corley rents her spot in Delta Bay for $800 a month, which includes sewer services and water. This amount of money is well spent because it gives her a lifestyle she truly enjoys.

“Its literally like living in a nest, and that’s what I like best about it,” she ended.
