Luanne never imagined that downsizing would give her financial freedom, and be able to live the life that she had always wanted.

Her home, which she calls, “The Nest,” is parked at the largest tiny house village in the country located in Newport, TN.

From the start, tiny houses have always fascinated Luanne.

She had always pictured herself retiring and living in a small space she could call her own and only have the things that she needed.

For Luanne, letting go of a bigger house, and all the things in it wasn’t hard. In fact, it felt freeing.

She bought a tiny home for just around $79K and had been living there for a year.

Luanne pays $200 a month for the rent and an additional $25 for water.

They also pay for their own electricity.

Since she retired, she said that she has been living using her social security and it couldn’t get any better.

She chose lap siding wood for that natural feel with white trim.

Then she chose black metal for the roofing because she loved the sound of the rain.

The dimensions of the tiny home are 10 feet by 28 feet long with 13 and a half feet tall.

In front, the first thing that you will notice is her 12-man Seahawks flag.

She chose this because she lived in Seattle for 23 years.

Luanne also loves Christmas decorations, in fact, she has so many decorations that she puts them away in her tiny shed, just outside the house.

You’ll love all the nine big windows surrounding the house. As natural light passes, the space appears bigger and cleaner.

Inside the nest are 380 sq. feet of living space and her receiving room is really spacious so that she can accommodate around 10 people.

In the community, Luanne met new friends that would go to her tiny home where they would spend time talking, watching movies, and doing crafts.

Her kitchen is also spacious. There’s a wooden pantry with lots of storage.

In the kitchen, you can find her cooktop stove, fridge, oven, microwave, and lots of lighting.

Let’s not forget the drop sink that she can cover if she needs more space.

Her kitchen contains a regular-sized table where she can eat, work, and do crafts.

You will find a big Ikea storage in her hallway.

There, she stores her clothes, sewing materials, books, and so much more.

Then upstairs is her loft bedroom, you will see a queen-sized foam, a window, and cozy pillows.

Underneath the staircase are the washer and dryer.

Her bathroom is quite spacious, complete with a shower and vanity.

“I think the best part of tiny living is just how it simplifies your life but also just the financial freedom that it gives my house is paid for. It’s kind of incredible,” Luanne shared.

Luanne, who is retired, is living a dream come true.

Together with Bentley, her dog, she enjoys each day in her beautiful tiny home.
