Financial freedom might be every person’s ultimate goal. Next to peace of mind, of course. It can seem next to impossible, but with determination and discipline, it’s attainable.
But did you ever think financial freedom would come in the form of a house? A tiny one, at that?
It sounds a bit odd, doesn’t it? A house comes with either rent or mortgage to pay, neither of which are cheap. Michelle knows this very well. That’s why, when her children were all grown up, she started working on two things: a living space all to herself and financial freedom.
Tiny living makes both achievable.
Still not convinced? Let Michelle’s stunning loft open your mind to the possibilities. When asked what inspired her to make the shift to tiny living, Michelle explained,
“I didn’t want a huge mortgage. This is a way to be able to do stuff I’ve always wanted to do, like travel.”
Michelle raised four kids on her own. As an empty nester, she realized she could finally have her own little space where she could fix it up just the way she liked it.
The tiny home stands right beside her parents’ house. With a good eye for detail, Michelle picked colors that matched those of her parents’ home – a wise design move that tied exterior details together.
When you walk inside Michelle’s home, the first thing you’ll notice is how it doesn’t look tiny at all.
Perhaps it’s how she keeps it so clean and organized or how she picked visually pleasing pieces that promise much storage space; the tiny home is something to draw inspiration from.
By simply looking around the neat, spacious home, you can tell it’s a haven that allows Michelle to relax and breathe easily.
You’ll love how clever every detail is. For instance, each step on the stairs doubles as shoe storage space. Her kitchen functions as a laundry area. It also has a spacious countertop for easy meal preparation and a foldable table that allows her more space for entertaining. Let’s not forget the pull-out pantry attached to the stairs, too!
Michelle laughingly shares how, when the temperature drops, she walks over to the kitchen and bakes – not only does it warm the place up nicely, it gives a lovely smell, too.
It’s space-saving but in the most aesthetically pleasing way.
Her bathroom is another space you’ll want to get ideas from. It gives off such a calming vibe – from setup to functionality, Michelle definitely thought things over well as she designed it.
And finally, the bedroom upstairs. Michelle’s bed, books, and wardrobe fit nicely in the loft. She can move with ease and not have to worry about knocking anything over or not having enough space for getting dressed and moving about.
Everything in Michelle’s tiny house just makes sense.
Its charm we can owe to how Michelle is true to herself. From her taste, personality, and preferences stemmed a home so lovely, you’ll want one for yourself.
As Bryce and Michelle discuss all the lovely details of the tiny home, remember to keep an eye out for excellent touches like the stained glass window (an old family treasure), the loft storage adorned with indoor plants, the tea nook under the stairs, and the stunning storage chest that Michelle uses as a coffee table.
