Sir Richard Branson is one of the most well-known businessmen and philanthropists in the world today. His business ventures and charity work have been an incredible inspiration to many. His fame, in turn, piques the public’s curiousity, and now – we get a rare glimpse inside the Branson way of life.

Dating back to the 17th century, this Branson family vacation home is owned by Sam Branson (Sir Richard Branson’s son), and his wife, Isabella.

Sam and Isabella only wanted the best for this gorgeous Branson vacation home located in the Cotswolds area of the UK. So, they decided to hire well-known interior designer Katharine Pooley to help decorate the five-bedroom, four-bathroom, Grade-II listed, historic home.

Inside, the stunning home features original wood beams and a color palette of soft blues and grays.

Pooley met Sir Richard Branson during a trip to the Caribbean and has since designed a few of their family’s homes. However, this particular project is one of her favorites.

“They’ve all been lovely, and this is my favorite one to date. Sam and Isabella were really involved, and very thoughtful in the process. I’ve never had so much correspondence with a client. A lot of love went into this home,” she told Cottages & Gardens.

The dining room was designed for family gatherings and boasts a rustic brick floor.

Although the home was structurally sound when the design started, it hadn’t been lived in for years and was in dire need of repair. Impressively, it was all completed in just under a year.

“The plumbing and electric required work, each bathroom had to be completely redone, and the kitchen needed modernizing,” Cottages & Gardens says.

The kitchen is spacious yet cozy; the perfect place for loved ones to gather.

A large island featuring oak countertops is the centerpiece for the bright and airy room. A large whitewashed armoire houses pantry items and dishes, while high-end appliances provide the opportunity to cook meals fit for royalty.

One of the guest bathrooms has an antique pine and zinc bathtub in the center.

Imagine soaking away the stresses of the day in this absolutely glorious deep soaker tub. The rest of the bathroom was kept a stark white to really highlight the tub’s beauty. Incredibly, Pooley found it while on a trip to France.

“It was 500 pounds, and just lying there on the side of the road!” she boasts.

Nearby, a guest bedroom was also kept a bright white, providing the perfect backdrop for the natural light coming through the window.

The canopy flowing over the bed and color accents on the wall give the room and very dreamy and whimsical feel. Keeping all of the furnishings and door minimalistic and neutral-colored makes the room feel much larger than it really is.

Another guest bedroom goes for a more colorful approach.

Each guest room has a name or theme. This particular room is called the Book Room; there is also the White Room (above), and the Toile Room (below).

This guest bedroom uses the original oak beams to complement 18th-century-motif toile walls and bedskirts.

“The twin beds are covered in an antique French bedspread, which was cut in two and trimmed in James Hare’s Orissa silk in Geranium Pink,” Cottages & Gardens writes.

A bit of toile continues in another guest bathroom.

This tiny bathroom with vaulted ceilings might not have a unique zinc tub, but it does have an antique clawfoot tub, which is just as luxurious. The oak beams continue into almost every room of the home.
