Architecture student spends $10K on bus conversion and the walkthrough is amazing
I would definitely hire him.

Sometimes, people choose to be practical rather than pursuing their real passion in life. Sadly, not everyone can afford to go with what they truly want. Instead, they settle with what they only have on their plates.

Not this guy, though.

However, for an architecture student from Knoxville Tennessee, Caleb Brackney, he chose to do both.

How is that possible?

Well, it’s pretty simple. He transformed an old school bus into a wheeled home that’s perfect not only for him but also for those who want to live freely just like him.

He did all the work from scratch and he did it while living his life as a student.

In a video uploaded by the YouTube channel Tiny Home Tours, Brackney gives everyone a tour of his humble rolling home. Brace yourself because it’s one of the most gorgeous mobile homes that you’ll ever see.

He admitted he knew nothing about plumbing, electrical works, or setting up a sewer.

Regardless of having little knowledge, he still pushed through with the project. He just went out there, tried to build his home, and unconsciously learned new things.

Brackney said in the video, “I would encourage you just to find out what you’re passionate about and just go for it.”

A guy with guts will surely go somewhere and that’s what exactly happened to his journey on this transformation project.

Brackney worked on a budget of only $10,000.

Considering that he’s about to build a mobile home from literally nothing, the amount might come out short, don’t you think so too? But this great guy managed to squeeze in that thin budget.

He started by buying the school bus which he got from Rome, Georgia. It is a Thomas International 1995 school bus and that already burnt $3,000 off of his budget.

How far can the remaining $7,000 go? Let’s all find that out.

From a gorgeous kitchen, comfy bed, guest room, and more – everything is absolutely amazing.

Looks like being a design student paid a good portion of the completion of his project.

He also said in the video that he pretty much bought the materials of his tiny home from the Facebook marketplace.

Most of them were repurposed but totally presentable and functioning. He’s just proving to us all that we don’t need to have a chunky budget to build our own tiny home on wheels.

This architecture student sure knows how to deliver.

We wouldn’t call it “transformation” for nothing. Combining the repurposed materials that he bought and his old stuff in his old place, Brackney came up with such an elegant-looking interior design.

Everything is fully functioning in his wheeled home, he’s actually been living there with his dog for several months now. It only proves his project is successful.

People are actually speechless by the outcome of this project by Brackney.

One commenter compared this $10k project with other highly-budgeted ones:

“I’ve seen buses converted with 5 times the budget that don’t look as good as this. Amazing what people can do when they put their minds to it. 10k! that and a great mind.”

This one couldn’t agree more:

“He did an amazing job! His bus design is one of the best I’ve seen and he only spent 7k on the interior…I’m impressed!”

Brackney hopes to inspire other people who want to take on the same project. At the same time, he also wants to see other bus projects that will inspire him to do more with his chosen craft.
